    Quote in it's context ...

    For Christ is of those who are humble-minded, and not of those who exalt themselves over His flock. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Sceptre of the majesty of God, did not come in the pomp of pride or arrogance, although He might have done so, but in a lowly condition, as the Holy Spirit had declared regarding Him. For He says, “Lord, who hath believed our report, and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? We have declared [our message] in His presence: He is, as it were, a child, and like a root in thirsty ground; He has no form nor glory, yea, we saw Him, and He had no form nor comeliness; but His form was without eminence, yea, deficient in comparison with the [ordinary] form of men. He is a man exposed to stripes and suffering, and acquainted with the endurance of grief: for His countenance was turned away; He was despised, and not esteemed. He bears our iniquities, and is in sorrow for our sakes; yet we supposed that [on His own account] He was exposed to labour, and stripes, and affliction. But He was wounded for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we were healed. All we, like sheep, have gone astray; [every] man has wandered in his own way; and the Lord has delivered Him up for our sins, while He in the midst of His sufferings openeth not His mouth. He was brought as a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before her shearer is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth. In His humiliation His judgment was taken away; who shall declare His generation? for His life is taken from the earth. For the transgressions of my people was He brought down to death. And I will give the wicked for His sepulchre, and the rich for His death,66 because He did no iniquity, neither was guile found in His mouth. And the Lord is pleased to purify Him by stripes.67 If ye make68 an offering for sin, your soul shall see a long-lived seed. And the Lord is pleased to relieve Him of the affliction of His soul, to show Him light, and to form Him with understanding,69 to justify the Just One who ministereth well to many; and He Himself shall carry their sins. On this account He shall inherit many, and shall divide the spoil of the strong; because His soul was delivered to death, and He was reckoned among the transgressors, and He bare the sins of many, and for their sins was He delivered.”70 And again He saith, “I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All that see Me have derided Me; they have spoken with their lips; they have wagged their head, [saying] He hoped in God, let Him deliver Him, let Him save Him, since He delighteth in Him.”71 Ye see, beloved, what is the example which has been given us; for if the Lord thus humbled Himself, what shall we do who have through Him come under the yoke of His grace?

    Youse Catholic guys and the Varied iterations of Protestants and Baptists are argueing 2 sides of the coin. Jesus suffering and death on the cross was mandated by the Father to the Son for the salvation of human kind. Please don’t complicate that gospel... we all agree. Leave it there. If you want to debate anything, then discuss how we come to terms with interpretations relevant to salvation.

    I personally do not feel that a Christian needs to wait until he is dead and buried to enjoy being a part of the kingdom. It is here and now and it will greatly be imbellished in heaven when we are with our lord and savior. This is grace (a free gift from God) and it should never be squandered nor looked upon as useless/Not necessary. Those of the things my brother and I believe that we should be discussing, how we are to love one another.... even if we are of different faiths and practices

    Curse of the Law doesn't equate to the Wrath of God poured out on Jesus.

    Furthermore it states we are REDEEMED from the Law, Doesn't say we are redeemed from God and his wrath.

    Doesn't say there is transfer of account from the human race to Jesus, because Jesus is counted inclusively to the human race.

    Galatians 4

    3So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world. 4But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

    Forgiveness of sin is you DROP the debt. To have Jesus PAY IT, Is more then OVERCHARGING.

    Only Evil PEOPLE would be happy if someone they ought to care about suffers, they would sell their own mother and children as long as they get their immortality.

    Satan said I'll let you in heaven if you let me torture Jesus. Amen that sounds like a great deal says everyone who doesn't care for Jesus.

    Underline the words, "God poured out his Wrath on Jesus Christ".

    It doesn't teach that. You can scribble in Jesus suffered the pain of the entire universe that does not equate to "GOD poured out his wrath on Jesus Christ."

    God did not even spank Jesus. He let Jesus die for us.

    John 10

    17“For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again.18“No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”

    Instead what is argued here is a FALSE GOSPEL for the reason of the cross GOD HATES JESUS, God pours out his wrath on Jesus, and the trinity is separated.

    Notice nobody claims misrepresentation. I'm not kidding they believe God hated Jesus and damned Jesus.

    You can only sugar coat evil so much, I know you folks going to crack.

    I do not believe understanding the Gospel in light on an "Atonement Theory" is equatable to a false Gospel.

    I do agree with you, though, that God did not forsake His Son. Psalms 22:24. I believe aspects of most of the Atonement Theories are true.

    And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

    Do you suppose Jesus was mistaken?

    • [Deuteronomy 12:29-31 NASB] 29 "When the LORD your God cuts off before you the nations which you are going in to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land, 30 beware that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, 'How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?' 31 "You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
    Does God hate sin?

    • [Proverbs 6:16-19 NASB] 16 There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, 19 A false witness [who] utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

    Did Jesus become sin?
    Does God hate sin?

    (Nobody claims that God hated Jesus; only you claim that others believe this.)

    He was quoting Psalm 22, Read Psalm 22. At the very Worst, we Can say "Feeling Forsaken" is not the same as "being Forsaken".

    If you study the Psalms you'll find David first responds to his situation and then brings in the Aspect of dealing with the Situation with God.

    22 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
    Why are You so far from helping Me,
    And from the words of My groaning?
    2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear;
    And in the night season, and am not silent.

    3 But You are holy,
    Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
    4 Our fathers trusted in You;
    They trusted, and You delivered them.
    5 They cried to You, and were delivered;
    They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.

    6 But I am a worm, and no man;
    A reproach of men, and despised by the people.
    7 All those who see Me ridicule Me;
    They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
    8 “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him;
    Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

    9 But You are He who took Me out of the womb;
    You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.
    10 I was cast upon You from birth.
    From My mother’s womb
    You have been My God.
    11 Be not far from Me,
    For trouble is near;
    For there is none to help.

    12 Many bulls have surrounded Me;
    Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.
    13 They gape at Me with their mouths,
    Like a raging and roaring lion.

    14 I am poured out like water,
    And all My bones are out of joint;
    My heart is like wax;
    It has melted within Me.
    15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
    And My tongue clings to My jaws;
    You have brought Me to the dust of death.

    16 For dogs have surrounded Me;
    The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
    They pierced My hands and My feet;
    17 I can count all My bones.
    They look and stare at Me.
    18 They divide My garments among them,
    And for My clothing they cast lots.

    19 But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me;
    O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
    20 Deliver Me from the sword,
    My precious life from the power of the dog.
    21 Save Me from the lion’s mouth
    And from the horns of the wild oxen!

    You have answered Me.(Christ was not Forsaken)

    22 I will declare Your name to My brethren;
    In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
    23 You who fear the Lord, praise Him!
    All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
    And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!
    24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
    Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
    But when He cried to Him, He heard.

    25 My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;
    I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.
    26 The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
    Those who seek Him will praise the Lord.
    Let your heart live forever!

    27 All the ends of the world
    Shall remember and turn to the Lord,
    And all the families of the nations
    Shall worship before You.
    28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s,
    And He rules over the nations.

    29 All the prosperous of the earth
    Shall eat and worship;
    All those who go down to the dust
    Shall bow before Him,
    Even he who cannot keep himself alive.

    30 A posterity shall serve Him.
    It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
    31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
    That He has done this.

    How do we know Jesus Christ was not forsaken? God raised Him from the dead.

    He was talking to His Father, about to die. He was not quoting a song. God forsook Him because of sin. Sin cause separation. David's poetry was foretelling not a commandment to follow

    You are not following the conversation. You said:
    So you made the claim that anyone who said "Jesus is accursed" is preaching a false Gospel.
    In response I pointed out:

    So the Apostle Paul quoted the OT to make the point that Jesus was cursed (since he hung on a "tree" ... the Cross).
    I asked you if that made Paul guilty of preaching a false Gospel, and suggested that you are misunderstanding the scripture you quoted. This has nothing to do with your false claims about the "Wrath of God poured out on Jesus". I was just addressing one of your unbiblical statements, not all of them.

    You did not discover that from reading Scripture, you were told that. He was quoting Psalm 22, read it.

    I strongly disagree with you. He quoted it to Prophesy over the people Crucifying Him and condemning Him. Read it again.

    Christ was not permanently forsaken. We all know that. But He was forsaken, otherwise words have no meaning.

    I disagree. Like I said, at worst, He felt forsaken. I believe He said it to bring the Pharisees to the attention of Psalm 22. Also, Vs. 24 said God would never turn His face away from Him.

    Isaiah 53 says "we" esteemed him stricken of God and afflicted. God allowed it and even ordained it, but He did not forsake His Son.

    Well I believe the words of Jesus-- I can't think how they could be more plain-- and I thank God for them. 'He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree.' He bore the separation from God that our sins deserve. Because He bore it, I don't have to.

    Was a man about to die,separate from the Godhead for the first and only time proving He was God by reciting part of one verse to unbelievers? Or was the scripture being fulfilled by the sayings from the cross?

    you have it backwards.

    That's fine, you can believe He was separated from God. I do not. Not sure how someone can believe God will never forsake them, but Believe God forsook His own Son.
