Humph! A woman is allowed to to change her mind! No fudge unless you deserve it!

Well, okay then, in light of my open invitation you can have a small piece. If you want more though, you have to have done something to deserve it! (specially if you want all you can eat in three minutes! )

    Good morning everyone!

We've go dentist appointments today. :( I had forgotten about them. Well, not completely, just, how did it get to be the 14th already???? This month is not supposed to be half over.... next month school starts! I'm just now getting used to having the kids all the time. Not ready to start thinking about school again. July is flying by!

Thankful: Could you blow that rain a little more to the east and send it this way? We need about five more inches to pull us out of this drought - at least.

The sun is shining right now and the humidity is 'over the top'. I washed my hair and it won't dry!

Car is in the shop and the photographer should be here in about 30 minutes.

After that, Brent and I are going to 'try' and walk the six blocks to pick up the car. I don't care to ride with the man who owns the garage, so I don't want him picking us up.

Shawna followed us down and brought us back when we dropped the car off, but she is on her way to Wisconsin now to pick up her girls. They will be here for a month. PTL!

Well, time to get a little 'gussied up' for the pictures. I dressed the same, but think I ought to put some lipstick and blush on so I don't look dead.

BTW, if I scan the picture and post it, please remember that newspaper pictures add from 80-100 pounds on you. [IMG]

Well what an evening we have had!

Walked in the door just as the tornado sirens went off! We had been to the dentist and Bitsy's gymnastic lesson in a town about 20 miles east. I saw the very dark cloud as I drove into our town, but didn't really think about it. Supposedly it was over in the south part of town.

It hasn't stopped raining since. Been almost 2 hours since the cloud blew up and it started raining. The rain and the warning came at the same time. Now we are under a flash flood warning. We've had too much rain lately.

Well I was not a good girl today. For supper I ate left overs. A small serving of tuna salad AND a small serving of pasta with grilled chicken. I had some baked nacho chips with sour cream and salsa at lunch. I was hungry!

    Morning all:

It's raining here again. I'll be glad when it stops...In a way at least. Mr. Garrett, the man who sold built this house and the others around us, told me yesterday that the house beside us is sold and the closing will be on July 31st to a nice younger African American young lady. We haven't had a chance to meet her yet, but are glad that someone has finally bought the house! [IMG]

Vivian has to work all weekend and is pretty happy to have the extra hours to catch up on some of the hours she lost. We need the money. We don't want to have to start cashing in stock to catch up on bills.

Anyone got any good ideas on things that will help keep someone asleep or help get them to sleep? Viv and I both have had a hard time sleeping for the past several months and it's getting worse. Don't know if it's stress or what, but I know we've got to start getting some REST.

    Ya'll have a great day.

    Good morning Tony and all:

Tony, when I can't get to sleep, I read my Bible in bed and meditate on it. Next thing I know, it's morning!

It is partly cloudy here this morning but VERY muggy! I had a great night's sleep. I just woke up and that is 'sleeping in' for ME!

Brent's appointment is in an hour and mine is shortly after his, then we will head for Springfield, so I'd best get him up and feed him breakfast.

Dale got to eat a regular meal for supper last night and he is getting a regular breakfast this morning. If all goes well, he could come home as early as today! If not today, maybe tomorrow. This is his 8th day in the hospital and his 10th day of being sick...

    Got to run,

    Good Morning all!

Be safe Sue, during all your running.

I've just informed my children that we will be cleaning the house from top to bottom today. You should have heard the uproar. SUch a sad thing to have to do chores. But when it get to where you can't walk through the house(literally) then it's time to clean. Since the only mess I've made this week was in the kitchen, I see no reason why the three little mess makers can't become three little housekeepers. Aren't I a nice mother?

Tony, it absolutely poured here last night. The front yard is squishy and the back yard has water in places where water doesn't usually collect. Won't be any lawn mowing around here this weekend. After last night's storms were so bad, I'm wondering if I should try to the screen gazebo back up. I wanted to get it up today, but not if I'll just have to take it back down again.

As for sleeping, ya'll need a strict bedtime routine. Make it special so your mind and body get's used to it and expects it. Your internal clock is probably off due to all the stress you've encountered lately and a routine will help to reset it.

Set a time to go to bed. Then 30 or so minutes beforehand start your routine. It might be a bath, then a cup of tea(something soothing and decaffinated), then a few minutes of reading or devotions(no TV). Whatever it is make it something that both you and Vivian can do together so that you aren't disturbing each other with different routines. If 30 minutes isn't enough time, allow for more. But turn off the TV when you start so it won't be distracting. If ya'll can't stand the quiet, get some soothing music going instead.

Do it over and over, cause it takes 3 weeks for a habit to set in. Now you've had Cindi's advice for the moment. :D

Ack! I ate so little yet gained back a pound. MENOPAUSE UG! Walk past food, gain a pound!

Tony, I'm sorry to hear you and Viv can't sleep. I'm sure it's stress. You've had too much to think about lately. I have a relaxation technique for me but I'm not in pain! I don't think it would work for you.

I've slept wonderfully for the last 2 nights. I don't even remember Jim getting up for work today. I woke at 8:30 because the little girl (who hurt my cat) was coming at 9:15.

Cindi, I've sure got a lot of housework that needs doing! I can't make Nick clean up after the other kids and even tho I get them to pick up before they go, they'll throw trains in with G.I. Joe stuff and Power Rangers in with Matchbox cars. If I try to watch them all, I end up having to do all the work.

I've got dishes done and sheets in the washer. I've got to go to the bread store and cleaners, stop by the dollar store for some cleansers and the bank to deposit a check. TTYL

I would put Nick on the payroll and let him earn money by cleaning up what the smaller kids cannot or will not do.

This gives him responsibility because he is older and will help you to keep things neat and orderly.

When my children were small they had certain jobs that they did because they were supposed to and then some jobs that they would get paid for.

I have also paid my grandchildren for certain jobs. When we moved, I would not have got everything packed and unpacked and the old house cleaned without the help of two of my grandchildren. They didn't want to take money, but I insisted. They really earned it and Ed was so appreciative because he didn't have to do it.

Dale is home! PTL! I picked him up a while ago and he is feeling great (except for occasional pain).

He is on a regular diet, and goes back to the doctor in a week.

He is off work for another month.

Now, if I can just keep him still and in one spot, we'll be doing fine... :D

I do choose some jobs that Nick can do for spending money, Thankful. Today we had the girl who stuffed my cat into the small clear plastic shoe box that holds the tiny G.I. Joe parts. Having him play with her (and watch her closely) has been a GREAT HELP but it's so very hard to clean the house when there are so many people here. Jon is off til Monday on vacation, Nick and the 7 year old girl.... Can't mop, clean main bath, etc.

Right now the kids are picking up the toys they were playing with last. Teeny Tiny Lego pieces! Jim won't be home until late. His last appt. is 6:00 and is over an hour from here also so I'll vacuum when the girl is gone.

    PTL Sue!

Diane, the kids and I got started about 10 this morning and worked till just a bit ago and my house is still not clean! We'll have to work on it some more tomorrow or Monday. Of course I'm cleaning out while we're cleaning up in the bedrooms so that takes longer. We have to though, in order to find where the are coming in and what they are coming too. We found where they were coming in, in Bitsy's room, but couldn't figure out what they were coming to. Silly ants were climbing on her chest of drawers. Nothing there but clean clothes!

If Nick has as many legos as Son does, they'll still be picking them up tomorrow! Part of today's job that didn't get finished was sorting the lego pieces from all the places they've been stuck into one box. I had to go buy a new bigger box and I believe we're going to end up with two under the bed boxes full of them! I guess that's okay, since legos and transformers make up the biggest part of the toys in his room. I have a feeling the transformers will get packed away soon. Son rarely playes with them any more.

I just bet poor Patches hid when that little girl came in!
