Unapologetic Dispensational Truths - Is the KJV Required For Us to Believe It.

There are good and bad professors, and good and bad scholars. There are fundamental and conservative and liberal scholars. It's a mixed bag. I believe that true scholarship is a search for truth, and I believe that Ryrie did that, though he is not a "hero" of some kind, just a seeker after...

    Baptist rips John MacArthur

Well, at least JM never had a beard, unlike this Pidcock guy. That alone makes JM right and Pidcock wrong, doesn't it? :Rolleyes P. S. For full disclosure, I disagree vehemently with some things Pidcock wrote...but not all.

    Baptist rips John MacArthur

None of this is relevant, IMO. It doesn't matter if the writer is a Baptist (JM was not), or where he went to college and seminary, or whether or not he is clean cut, or what publication allowed it. What matters is whether he spoke the truth or not. So, I suggest you go to the critic's website...

Unapologetic Dispensational Truths - Is the KJV Required For Us to Believe It.

Being a dispensationalist, I've been following this thread with interest. I'd like to point out some things from the history of the theology. 1. It's founder is generally conceded to be John Nelson Darby (1800-1882). He was a Brethren founder and evangelist. I've read his biography and some of...

My growing list of Baptist history books

Dr. Fred Moritz, former general director of Baptist World Mission, has written a history of the board with the title, Now is the Time. It is available at: Now is the Time - Missions - Faithful Life Publishers - Christian Book Publishing Company, North Fort Myers This book is not just a history...

My growing list of Baptist history books

My go to Baptist histories: The Baptist Heritage, by H. Leon McBeth. Published in 1987, it's pretty up to date for a Baptist history. It's being used as a seminary textbook. 822 pages of gold! Short History of the Baptists, by H. C. Vedder. This 1907 book is a real classic.

Unapologetic Dispensational Truths - Is the KJV Required For Us to Believe It.

Yes, I'm pretty sure JM's church is 5 point Calvinist, so I'm sure they teach that, a typical Calvinist teaching. As for Baptist churches that teach that, the Reformed Baptists and the Sovereign Grace Baptist churches probably would. The typical independent Baptist churches (my crowd) would not...

Unapologetic Dispensational Truths - Is the KJV Required For Us to Believe It.

Actually there are Calvinists who are dispensationalists: John MacArthur and his church and schools, Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary (4 points), and others.

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

Yea, great fighter. I met him once. Saw him defeat Joe Corley in Atlanta for the world professional karate championship in 1975. He's still active.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. They both were awesome fighters, but that day Chuck was better due to his superior fighting strategy and patience.

Depends on the circumstances. Does the samurai know that the ninja is there? :Geek

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

Yeah, it is a great story! The way Mike Crain told it, he strictly warned Jordan not to try to sit up until Mike told him to, but Jordan did anyway, and that caused the cut. Many years later Crain and Jordan were at the same event after Jordan became famous, and someone said to Jordan, "Hey...

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

My old friend Mike Crain went to Heaven last week. He was probably the first to do evangelistic martial arts evangelism, starting as a college student in 1965. I had the privilege of working with him and being mentored to some degree by him. He believed in my martial art when my usual instructor...

You are correct. The ninja (忍者) were the spies of feudal Japan. There were several clans, and they could be hired by a feudal lord, etc., as spies or assassins. So yes, they operated from the shadows, always wearing black, even to cover most of the face. If you actually saw a ninja, you were...

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

He was a self made master. In other words, he started out with Wing Chun and trained in it quite a bit, but never learned the whole style, so no one considers him to be a master of Wing Chun. He trained somewhat in other Chinese styles, but never to the level of instructor. So, was he a master...

Unapologetic Dispensational Truths - Is the KJV Required For Us to Believe It.

This is all well and good, though I would disagree about the start of the Church Age. (I much prefer "Church Age" to "Age of Grace," since there has always been the grace of God.) The first local church was in Acts 2, of course, and the only time the word "church" appears in Acts 7 only...

We don't need to learn rock climbing; we just jump to the top. And we look at ropes as possible weapons. :Ninja

Unapologetic Dispensational Truths - Is the KJV Required For Us to Believe It.

Actually, I believe and teach that dispensationalism is a Bible based theological system. The KJV uses the term "dispensation" four times (three more times as "stewardship"), including one time in exactly the same way we teach what a dispensation is in dispensational theology: Eph. 1:10...
