    The Heart Of The Gospel

Still does not support "God makes us willing in the day of His power". (EWB-CB) Thy People shall offer themselves for voluntary offerings, (MLV2021) Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, (NASB 95) Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

So if someone went to the front and said those words would that be a confession of faith in Christ even if they read it from a card? The fact they went forward indicates they believe that salvation is through Christ Jesus. Now you may feel comfortable in judging the heart of the person but I do...

No person can come to Christ by their own freewill !

BF because you continue to ignore context you continue to read into the verses what you need to find. Man has the God given ability to hear and respond to the gospel message. The Holy Spirit convicts all men and Christ draws all men. Those that trust in Him are saved those the reject Him are...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

So you do not have a verse to support your "God makes us willing in the day of His power". How you get that from Psa 110:1 "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet." is just one of those C/R mysteries. Says nothing about making people willing to believe as I...

“The prodigal son and the unjust Steward”

Then why are you claiming the US and Britain are in the bible? Where do you find that in scripture?

    The Heart Of The Gospel

Well I see that you give all the rehearsed answers that I have come to expect from those of the C/R view. You have traded the word of God for the word of man. Your philosophy can be traced right back to Augustine who brought pagan teachings into the church. So your saying that getting wet is...

No person can come to Christ by their own freewill !

Man is a slave to sin but that does not preclude him being able to hear, understand and respond to the gospel message. That is just the C/R view that was brought into the church in the 4th century. And yes man is responsible for his sinning and will be judged for it. But your philosophy says...

No person can come to Christ by their own freewill !

That is a rather strange bit of logic there BF. When the bible holds man responsible for the choices he makes then logically he has the free will with which to make choices. But according to you man cannot do that so the question is how is a Holy God just if He condemns man for not doing...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

So are you saying that someone calling out to God for salvation is not that sinners prayer? It seems to me that those of the C/R view want to diminish the value of a person freely trusting in God for their salvation via calling out to Him through prayer as it does not fit your philosophy that...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

Those that reject God do not have a theology. Theology is the study of God and His character. So not man centered theology. To think you were saved before creation is the error of the C/R view. God's plan was set before creation that all those that would trust in Christ would be saved. That...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

We had an outreach at a coffee shop [The House] in Calgary. I would have those that said they understood what salvation was to present the gospel to me in their own words. By doing that it helped both of use improve in how we presented the gospel message.

    The Heart Of The Gospel

I would say the problem is not the "sinners prayer" but the presentation of the gospel message. It seems to come down to is the one presenting the gospel message just trying to add names to a tally sheet or are they trying to save souls. The one hearing the gospel message does not have to...

How many here would see themselves as being An Evangelical Arminian then?

Perhaps you will believe these biblical scholars. appointed/disposed τεταγμένοι G5021] The meaning of this word {τεταγμένοι G5021} must be determined by the context. The Jews had judged themselves unworthy of eternal life: {Act_13:46} the Gentiles, as many as were disposed to eternal life...

How many here would see themselves as being An Evangelical Arminian then?

You are ignoring the context Ken. In context God "appointed" them to salvation in response to their faith. When you use the term "ordained" it implies that God predetermined who would be saved. That does not fit the context or the overall biblical view.

    The Heart Of The Gospel

But what is the sinners prayer? As far as I know it is just something that Paul Washer coined. To me a "sinners prayer"would just a sinner calling out to God for salvation.

How many here would see themselves as being An Evangelical Arminian then?

The KJV has used the word ordain but it is better translated as appointed. tasso. G5021 1. This word means “to appoint,” “to order,” with such nuances as “to arrange,” “to determine,” “to set in place,” “to establish,” and middle “to fix for oneself.” [TDNT Theological Dictionary of the New...

How many here would see themselves as being An Evangelical Arminian then?

Your rendition does not fit with the context. But that does seem to be a common problem for those that are of the C/R view. Calvinists treat Act_13:48 as if it contains the phrase by God when it does not and they interpret it irrespective of Act_13:46 which sets the contextual tone. To state...
