    Romans 9

22 Paul now brings the "longsuffering" of God in the picture. By the fact of existing "vessels of dishonor" God has the right to show His wrath toward disobedient man. But yet, He endures with much longsuffering these "vessels of dishonor." This is just the opposite of TULIP! If these "vessels...

    Dept of War

I do agree the costs you're showing here is ridiculous, and it is obviously a waste. I'm hoping that Trump will continue cutting the red tape, eliminating this type of nonsense. My view of this mess in the world is that the US military has got to flex its muscles and show a determination by...

My goodness, I just turned on the TV and Charlie Kirk is dead.

I think it's Trump's way of sending a message. But Hegseth is making some serious changes in the military. He's upgraded the Army Fitness Test, and zeroing in on combat readiness. Got to do something when Xi, Putin, and Kim begin having secret meetings.

    Who is a Calvinist?

LOL, maybe, Paul was given many future events, but I think it was more heartfelt and broader than that. And I think we may be surprised if we could have heard that argument.

    Charlie Kirk shot

That is really sad news, and there's been far to much of it lately.

    Who is a Calvinist?

I agree it can definitely go to far. Some are more oriented toward a brisk disagreement than others. I sometimes wonder why the Holy Spirit omitted the details of that brisk disagreement between Paul and Barnabas.

    Romans 9

I thought Peter said, "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father." 1 Peter 1:2 But you said it doesn't say that, so I must be wrong.

Of course they don't, BF. What was I thinking?

    Romans 9

Oh, ok, I didn't see that one. That one could have also been directed to me, I'm not sure. Dave G was pestering me to give an outline on Rom. 9 and I was reluctant. I have this condition in my life now, most folks call it laziness. But I gave in and started it last night, will finish it...

EG, I think that post from Dave G was for me.

    Romans 9

I believe you had better rethink that, BF. 1 Peter 1:1-2 "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and...

    Romans 9

Actually, I took the phrase "merited election" from your post #25, 2nd paragraph. I used that phrase so you would know what I was talking about. It should be obvious to all here that neither of us believe in the merited favor of God as in being earned. Just an innocent mistake, no big deal.

    NFL... The Calvinist View

Let me clarify something so there will be no doubt as to what I meant. In the above post I'm not promoting sinless perfection is this life when I said, "This is not a judgment of sin, for those who are in Christ have no sin before God," I'm saying that God does not impute sin to the believer...

    Romans 9

@Dave G If it's ok with you I'll finish this tomorrow, I'm developing a brain cramp from all this thinking. lol The reason I didn't want to do this to begin with. But I will finish it tomorrow.

    NFL... The Calvinist View

All of us who are in Christ will stand before Him at His judgment Seat to answer for what we have done. This is not a judgment of sin, for those who are in Christ have no sin before God, we are righteous being "In Him."

    Romans 9

19 Paul knows exactly how the Jews will respond to what he has said. He sets forth questions that he knows they will ask, and Paul answers them. "you will then say then unto me, why does He yet find fault?" "for who has resisted His will?" Paul is referring to man finding fault with God, and...

    Romans 9

Very important point to make at this point of Rom. 9. Paul is directing all of this to Israel. He is determined to completely destroy Israel's claim of national salvation without faith in Christ. This is one of the many reasons the Jews determined to kill Paul.
