It's personal between me and Him

I was born into the IFB ranks many years ago, and I will die in the same! After I was born-again I found that I disagreed with a few things in the IFB Church. So I began searching to align with what I was certain the Scripture taught. I found in every direction I turned the differences doubled...

    Coming to God

Mr. Philpot doesn't tell us HOW God draws us. Does He place us under a trance and we have no choice but to understand and receive His way, or does He prepare man every step of the way to hear the Gospel from another and we are presented with a choice?

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

Nothing wrong with that! The best way to learn anything about the Baptists is ask a Baptist. It's said there are over 50 different types of Baptists, so you may not get the same answers.

    I thought Baptists followed scripture

It seems your main concern is Universalism, and in general the Baptists oppose this doctrine. There are always a few sympathizers but the Baptists for the most part condemn Universalism as heresy.

I believe ALL who ever existed will be in God's Kingdom.

I don't ever remember having conversation with that member before. So I know virtually nothing about that person, and I just couldn't place what was being said.

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

There are 3 fairly large IFB churches near me, along with several other Baptist Churches that don't identify as IFB. I only know of 1 Calvinist Church in the area. Every where I go I know some folks in the Church world, always have to chat a while, and I don't mind. Most of these folks are...

    Points of disagreement.

I hear you, Brother. But it's not that simple for many.

    Saved By Law?

The 2 work together and cannot be separated. The is no salvation without justification and there can be no justification without salvation. So what is the big deal of my using the word salvation and you insisting on justification? The one is the result of the other.

    Saved By Law?

Oh, so you had no point to your conversation? Exactly what is the difference in justification and salvation, K? Is there some 5 pt. clause that separated the meaning of the 2 words.

    Saved By Law?

The 5 points are plain to see for me! You are suggesting salvation (the Law written in their hearts), through the Law with no repenting and acknowledging belief.

    Saved By Law?

But I will say the bottom line to our disagreement is your 5 points, and my Grace offered to man with free will.

    Saved By Law?

Lol. Ok, we disagree and that's that.

    Saved By Law?

K, they could not be justified with acknowledging God! The Gentiles without the Gospel could be justified by admitting to themselves they were doing wrong and knowing their had to be a Creator by the presence of creation itself. Either God sent someone to this person who was honest in heart to...

    Saved By Law?

In similarity to the Gentiles who had a conscience, the Jews had the Law. No one had to tell the Jews they couldn't keep the Law perfectly, if they were honest with themselves they knew they weren't keeping the Law. This pointed to Christ in the Law for salvation. But with the Gentile who had...

    Saved By Law?

No, K. Through the conscience man is pointed to God, just as the Law pointed to Christ. When Paul wrote the Book of Romans there were many Gentiles at this time who never heard the Gospel. But they had a conscience that gave them some sense of right and wrong. Paul mentions them accusing...

    Saved By Law?

No sir, Paul is not speaking of salvation for these Gentiles by showing the Law written in their hearts. Paul is saying these Gentiles are not without light, and have no excuse. He mentions the conscience that bears witness to right and wrong, this is not salvation. This is pointing to...
