    Calvinism, Arminianism, and Provisionism?

You must be thinking of Calvinism. Just going by the word of God is not a new opinion. Well it might be for a calvinist.

What are the distinctives of "Reformed Baptist"?

You mean like Augustine and Calvin and many of those of the calvinist mind set.

Failure to Grasp the Doctrine of Union with Christ, leads to many Error's

If I can jump in here to add a comment. I do not see calvinism as evil but rather just confused in their understanding of the word of God. Where the claim of calvinism being evil comes from I think goes back to the WCF & LBCF WCF Cahpter 3 God from all eternity did, by the most wise and holy...

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

I agree that those that hear the gospel message are responsible to make a real choice. But I also believe that as you said "the Bible is clear about that. "The just shall live by faith" (Hab. 2:4, Gal. 3:11, Heb. 10:38)." Those that respond to the various means that God uses to draw them to...

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

Does the Pope or Muslims believe in the true living God of scripture? No they do not. If you read through what I posted you will see that it points to the faith in the true God of scripture. Those that are in God/Christ will be saved. That is what we see in both the OT and the NT. Isa 55:6...

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

Charlie you have to remember that those of a certain particular view have limited the sovereignty of God. They will say He is absolutely sovereign then deny just that.

Failure to Grasp the Doctrine of Union with Christ, leads to many Error's

Joh 6:45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me— Joh 12:32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw everyone to Myself.” Keep studying Z.

What are the distinctives of "Reformed Baptist"?

Do you notice that you have rejected what the bible says for what you want it to say. Keep studying Z.

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

@Alan Dale Gross made this comment. "There, does God Give Intellectual and Spiritual Understanding to Give the New Birth to whom He Will, regardless of whether they are "small children and the mentally incapable"? " Why leave out or those that have been convicted of their sin or only know of...

Failure to Grasp the Doctrine of Union with Christ, leads to many Error's

If you had quoted both sides of the discussion then you might have a point but as usual I find with those that hold to the calvinist view like to cherry pick. How were any of those comments insulting @Martin Marprelate? If you find the truth insulting then that says more about you than you may...

What are the distinctives of "Reformed Baptist"?

Ya that's me closing the door on your faulty view of scripture.

    Total depravity or total inability?

If I recall you say you have a theological degree. So it surprises me that you would think the TULIP is true. But if you lean toward calvinism as I would suspect you do then I can see why you support that errant view.

What are the distinctives of "Reformed Baptist"?

Biblical would have been a better term.

    Total depravity or total inability?

Well one of us will anyway.

What are the distinctives of "Reformed Baptist"?

I always stand to be corrected by clear biblical exegesis but I do not consider that to be the case for many on the calvinist side of the divide. The evidence is clear that the foundation of calvinism came from augustine in the 4th century when he brought pagan philosophy into the church and...

    Total depravity or total inability?

    Sorry BF you are wrong.

    Total depravity or total inability?

    That is because it is.

What are the distinctives of "Reformed Baptist"?

No that is not what I see in @JonC words. What I see there is him pointing out that those that hold to the calvinist understanding are just confused Christians. You have added man-made views to the word of God and in some cases actually hold those views to be superior to the word of God.
  19. Silverhair

    Total depravity or total inability?

You have been mislead BF. The TULIP is NOT biblical but is a man-made distortion of the word God.
