    Anthropomorphic Language

I think that the root of our disagreement is that you're saying all-knowing does not mean all-knowing and I'm saying God changing His mind does not mean He changes His mind. Funny enough, I looked back in the archives to see if this subject had been discussed before. I was surprised to learn...

    Anthropomorphic Language

Here is why I am having difficulty with that assertion. God made a promise to Abraham. Did he choose not to know how he was going to fulfill it until Moses interceded? If God didn’t know that Moses was going to intercede, how can God be 100% certain that the children of Israel would not have...

    Anthropomorphic Language

The problem that I think you will eventually run into is that there are other verses that speak of God having human characteristics such as… Exodus 7:5 - And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among...

    Anthropomorphic Language

I'm imagining that would make God like an operating system. He can delete files that He no longer wants. And if God needed to remember something that He deleted, would He have to run the file recovery tool to get back that information? If so, it was never really deleted, the OS marked that block...

Emergency Forum Platform Upgrade and Maintenance Notice

The problem for me when using mobile is that advertisements keep getting in the way. Hopefully this is just a temporary solution, but one way to get around this is to request the desktop site in whatever browser you’re using.

    Anthropomorphic Language

Hello Van, Thank you for sharing your concerns. I would like to ask you two follow-up questions on your first point. Does God not know what our actions will be until we make them? If Moses did let God alone, would God have broken His promise to Abraham that He would multiply his descendants...

The Historic Baptist View of the Nicene Creed

I affirm it on the basis of sola scriptura and a consistent hermeneutical understanding that the will of all three persons are in harmony with one another and will accomplish said will perfectly.

Exodus 32:12-14 - Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy...

    The case for Mark 16:16.

Here are my two cents. Looking at all of the evidence, I would tend to doubt the authenticity of the longer ending of Mark. While it does attest to appear as early as the second century, there are many variations that come up that seem to indicate that the conclusion of the story was not...

    The case for Mark 16:16.

I have read through your earlier responses and I am not quite clear on what your position is. Unless I'm misunderstanding, it seems like what you're is saying that the Holy Spirit comes upon Jews and Gentiles differently, or that the message of baptism was for the Jews only. If that is not what...

    Separate Women’s Bible Study?

Women are commanded to teach younger women and children so I do believe in that situation the Holy Spirit provides guidance differently than with men, whatever those gifts may be. Each individual is different. I know there are gifts not exclusive to a particular gender. I read somewhere that...

    Separate Women’s Bible Study?

Having a baby isn't exactly what I had in mind. However, there are mothers in my church that do consider it a spiritual gift. I guess it depends on how you look at it.

    Separate Women’s Bible Study?

Our Presbyterian brothers and sisters would tell us that the way we baptize is an argument from silence. When we don’t have verses with clear step by step instructions then we have to piece it together by looking at the apostolic examples provided within the entirety of the NT. Just like there...

An Even Closer Look at God’s Election

I try to stay out of these discussions but can I present an explanation that we can all agree on? The note in my study bible puts it this way... You may say, "what if God didn't choose me?" Have you accepted Jesus Christ? If so, then He chose you. If you haven't accepted Him, do so and you'll...

    Separate Women’s Bible Study?

I have not found any examples in scripture of women teaching to a group of believers as a whole. However, I have found examples of women teaching believers individually. Acts 18:24-26 (NKJV) - Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures...

    The case for Mark 16:16.

He that believeth not shall be damned. It does not say he that is baptized not shall be damned. The emphasis is on believing. Anybody can get baptized but if they have a heart of unbelief then it means nothing.

    The case for Mark 16:16.

Where did you get that from the text? He that believeth (first and foremost) and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Believing always precedes water baptism.

    President Trump's Cabinet

Under normal circumstances, I would tend to agree. There are too many controversies surrounding Gaetz. However, we’ll have to wait and see if Trump can get some of these republican senators under his thumb. I think the chances are 50/50.

    President Trump's Cabinet

Remember, Kamala Harris proposed a federal ban on food companies “price gouging”, which is essentially government enforced price control. Grocery chains have a small profit margin to begin with, an average of 1.5%. So like any business, what happens if they can no longer make a profit? The...
