I'm so glad to be moving on from the ways this country has been being taken down!

The United States is not moving on from that just-about-to-turn $36 TRILLION national debt, and growing. Unless spending and tax cut mania is kept at bay, I would not be surprised to see the national debt hit $50 TRILLION during the next four years.

If you really believe DT will attempt to become “king”, then you don’t understand very much st all.

I understand that you don’t believe DT will do what he promised. Maybe the “machine” that is the deep state will effectively thwart his agenda.

It will be a battle, no doubt, to get it done

Judging by the folks he is nominating, I think he fully intends to do everything he said and even more.

I am very excited about the “office of efficiency”. Musk got rid of about 70% of waste at X (twitter). Just think how much bloated gov can be slashed and how that will affect our budget and debt!

Let’s try to be optimistic about the new admin

Peace to you

I am no more optimistic about the incoming Trump administration than I would be if it was an incoming Harris administration. Neither Donald Trump nor Kamala Harris offer anything for a limited government person like me. I have no more interest in Donald Trump and his administration telling me what to eat or what to drink or how to live my life than I would in Kamala Harris and her appointments telling me what to eat or what to drink or how to live my life.

I have no hope in Elon Musk as anything in the Trump presidency. A commission, which is all Musk is heading up, won't have power to control spending. Two powers that Congress has not given over to the presidency, so far, during the 21st century, are the raising of revenues and the spending of money.

Seek out the truths and maybe you will be after American Exceptionalism takes shape on the stage as Trump's team Makes America Great Again.
I spent 8 years as a student of American exceptionalism so don’t start with your idealism bs. Get us out of this swirling debt and get the freeloaders out of my country. There is a beginning for you.

Perhaps you don't quite catch on to the scope of my de facto king comment; I consider Joe Biden to have been acting as a de facto king.

The Congress has been ceding lots of its power to the presidency and the executive branch over time, especially during the the 21st century.

Congress has found this to be convenient to their reelection chances, so that instead of exercising the powers that the Constitution gives them, they cede them to the presidency and the executive branch, and stand on the sidelines.

Then, if what the presidency and the executive branch do is popular with the public, they can clap and cheer and say, "We were for it all along." If what the presidency and the executive branch do is unpopular with the public, they can boo and criticize and say, "We were against it all along."

Kamala Harris and her appointments telling me what to eat or what to drink or how to live my life.

Remember, Kamala Harris proposed a federal ban on food companies “price gouging”, which is essentially government enforced price control. Grocery chains have a small profit margin to begin with, an average of 1.5%. So like any business, what happens if they can no longer make a profit? The business goes under and we’d have a massive shortage.

I’m not defending Trump and I know RFK Jr. is an oddball but you don’t want Harris making those kinds of decisions, it would be disastrous.

...I do, and I truly believe he'll never be confirmed.

"...Polymarket predictions reveal significant doubt over whether Matt Gaetz will be confirmed as Attorney General in a Trump administration, with current betting odds showing only a 28% chance of approval.
What Happened: The chances of confirmation have been oscillating between 25% and 30%, according to Polymarket traders.

The unconventional nomination has sparked widespread commentary, with former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) casting doubts on Gaetz's chances...."

Matt Gaetz To Be Confirmed As Attorney General In A Trump Administration? Not So Fast, Polymarket Traders Say - Benzinga

[add]

"...Regardless of any doubts, Hegseth's chances for Senate confirmation appear bright on Polymarket, which was funded in part by early Trump backer Peter Thiel. As of Thursday evening, betting odds showed the Fox News host with an 82 percent chance of being confirmed.

Hegseth's odds briefly dipped below 50 percent on Wednesday night, shortly after Trump announced now-former Congressman Matt Gaetz as his pick for U.S. attorney general. At 10:15 p.m., Hegseth was given a 48 percent chance of confirmation, although the odds shot up to 80 percent moments later...."

I'd like to see Scotty Kilmer as Transportation Secretary

"...Transportation Secretary
The Department of Transportation is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and reliable travel for Americans nationwide by regulating various modes of transportation, maintaining infrastructure, and advancing innovations in air, rail and maritime travel.
Garret Graves is poised to head up the department, according to Polymarket traders, who give him a 54 percent of securing the nod. The representative for Louisiana's 6th Congressional District has held several advisory roles within the government focused on transportation.

Missouri Representative Sam Graves has a 14 percent chance. Graves currently chairs the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure...."

I have no more interest in Donald Trump and his administration telling me what to eat or what to drink or how to live my life than I would in Kamala Harris and her appointments telling me what to eat or what to drink or how to live my life.

The health conditions of people in our country are atrocious! Everybody pays for the the overwhelming influx of chronic diseases due to poor diets and lack of exercise in this country. People in this country have been brainwashed and programmed to believe in pharmaceutical fixes rather than taking the responsibility of improving natural diet and exercise and this mindset needs to be addressed. The attention being put on better heath for our people outweighs the taboos of daring to responsibly suggest that our people need to start putting down their forks and look what they are putting into their bodies. The decline in health, especially our children's health is indisputable and to ignore it in fear of having your sugar cereal and soda pop criticized with arguments of it affecting your freedom, are weak, irresponsible and fear mongering. This is a very serious issue that ignored long enough and you should glad that finally this plaque upon our country is being addressed.

It must be miserable living with such negativity in your life and having no hope. Curious, is there anything positive that you can say, at all, about the new directions our country is headed in?

and so you truly believe that Gaits (Gaetz) is competent to be the next AG?

Gaetz has been a major voice calling out the truth of corruption of the justice system, he will make an excellent AG for those who love truth and blind justice.

Hmm, I'm going to have to differ with your conclusion and that of the polling (we know how the polling typically operates and why) and my betting odds would be about 90% that Gaetz will be the next AG. I've heard many good arguments that conclude Gaetz has closer to 100% chance, based on that the people have spoken, that Trump deserves his cabinet to support his agenda and that it would be political suicide to break rank on this issue.

this mindset needs to be addressed.

Not by government. Unless someone does physical harm to another or steals their stuff, then government should leave them alone. Americans use to understand this when I was a child; but apparently MAGA, Progressives, and others have either forgotten that principle or abandoned it.

responsibly suggest

You or anyone else can suggest all you want from now until Doomsday, I don't care. Just don't mess with me or mine or my stuff.

It must be miserable living with such negativity in your life and having no hope.

Psalms 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God;
For my expectation is from him.

Psalms 118:8-9 It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in princes.

Psalms 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man,
In whom there is no help.

Colossians 1:27 Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Curious, is there anything positive that you can say, at all, about the new directions our country is headed in?

The country about to breach the $36 TRILLION mark in its national debt, and quite possibly breaching the $50 TRILLION mark within the next four years, is not on a positive path.

Don't mess with my taxes to pay for the healthcare of irresponsible glutenous people that discount all reason to continue in their unhealthy lifestyles!

The country about to breach the $36 TRILLION mark in its national debt, and quite possibly breaching the $50 TRILLION mark within the next four years, is not on a positive path.

And yet you ignore that this is being addressed, at last, by proven business leaders, under a new department, with more of your ingrained negative fear mongering and pessimism. You appear to defy common sense solutions.
