    Annihilation

Annihilation is not taught in Scripture. In Rev. 20 the souls of those in Hell are called up for judgement and notice their bodies are also called up. They are cast into the Lake of Fire body and soul forever. Those in Hell are still there from 6000 years ago to the present, waiting for this...

    Annihilation

It was the Sadducees that denied the resurrection and immortality. The Pharisees believed in the afterlife through the resurrection. As far back as Abraham they believed in a future heavenly home whose builder and maker was God. claiming to be pilgrims on this earth.

    If you weren't Baptist...

The warning for losing our faith and our salvation is given in Heb. 3:14 "For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" It's placing the Holy Spirit in an embarrassing/insulted situation.

    If you weren't Baptist...

That person can't be renewed to repentance, they have committed the unforgivable sin, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit entered into them by faith and the faith is no longer existing, forcing the Holy Spirit to leave, putting Him and Christ to open shame.

    If you weren't Baptist...

Another is Heb. 6:4-9 which is equal to the OT "the righteous turning from his righteousness." It's the denial of faith in Christ that was once present.

    If you weren't Baptist...

That comes from Heb. 10:26-31, and a couple of other places I would have to look up being my memory is not what it should be.

    If you weren't Baptist...

Not all of the Pentecostals deny it. Swaggart is or was, a strong upholder of the KJV and he is scripture only. Some claim he's not but I have watched his show "A study in the Word" for years and have not seen what some claim.

Mary and the recent Papal teaching

It was at that time of cannon of Scripture being determined that the dark ages began. That was the time in this world when the Word of God was hidden from man by the RCC. But God worked His magic and placed in the heart of our Reformers the way back to Him.

Mary and the recent Papal teaching

Yes, I agree! One last act of God through the Church before it began its descendance into heresy.

Mary and the recent Papal teaching

No, the RCC does not have Apostolic Authority, they imagine from Scripture what is not there. You should know by now we are having none of this, Cathode.

Penal Substitution Atonement (explain and discuss)

Yes, the death of man was inevitable through the fact of sin. But we were condemned to a much worse fate than that. The One who never sinned and God's Law could not take hold of, volunteered to suffer that wrath on our part.

Penal Substitution Atonement (explain and discuss)

Ok, Brother, I understand your position and I have no problem with it. I would have a problem if this was deemed mandatory knowledge with God. Let me explain, if I can, why I'm PSA. The wrath of God on man for His sin is death, that is exactly what Christ took for us in our place. That...

Penal Substitution Atonement (explain and discuss)

Where does guilty man condemned to death by the Law of a Holy God find reconciliation in your parables? The wrath of God on man for his sin must be carried out by God's Law. There is no way around it. And who took the place of man?

Penal Substitution Atonement (explain and discuss)

See what I mean by nothing to be gained? This will continue to the Second Coming and we will still be disagreeing.

Penal Substitution Atonement (explain and discuss)

What limited atonement view? Where is that in Scripture? That is present only in theory and an interpretation taken to form that theory.
  16. C

Penal Substitution Atonement (explain and discuss)

There is no atonement theory that can be absolutely proven from Scripture. I disagree that if PSA is correct then limited atonement has to be correct. Whether the atonement was for only the Elect or for the entirety of humanity the theme of PSA is the same. Christ took the punishment of...

Mary and the recent Papal teaching

Let's overlook the various Popes throughout the centuries who have declared insane doctrine found nowhere in Scripture. At least our squabbles are found in Scripture in some way.

Penal Substitution Atonement (explain and discuss)

I agree with the Calvinists on PSA to the point I previously mentioned. The general theme we agree, but for whom is the difference. I find no fault in the others who disagree with me, God does not demand we understand the complete details of the Atonement. Only that through His Son we have...

    If you weren't Baptist...

Did David the man after God's own heart lose his? Faith is the order of the believers life. He never lost that faith, as David and the rest of us, we all fall short in different ways.

    Large Ads on Screen.

I've never checked into it, but you're probably right on that. The ads aren't causing me any real problems so I'll just leave it as is.
