God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

That is a common problem that we can see in any number of religious views. I would say that you have made a serious error in your thinking. It is not the Arminians but the C/R [Calvinist/Reformed] that fit the view you have given. I am curious as to where you did get your idea from. From what...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Sorry BF but you are wrong again. You have been shown the truth so you have no excuse.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

BF the bible does not support your faulty view. You are ignoring the truths found in the word of God so you can hold to your man-made religion.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

BF you are reading into the text what you need to find. The bible holds man responsible for the response he makes to the gospel message. You have made God responsible as according to you He has to regenerate the person before they can believe. If that were truth then why is it that not...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

BF your philosophy comes from the 4th century so it is factually a man-made one.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

BF you want to have people saved/regenerated before they believe. You have the cart before the horse. Regeneration is to be made new. 2Co 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. So when is one found in Christ BF...

    Liver & Onions

My mouth was watering but do to the heart condition my wife will not let me indulge. But I can still dream.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

First what do you mean by theological consistency? Not a term I have seen batter around before. Second You made a factual error in this comment "The common mind set of the Arminian view is that unless God causes it, He cannot be sovereign over it.," That is the C/R view as can be clearly seen...

    Knowledge requires belief.

I know that Mormons think they can become god's but I do not believe it.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

It seems you have studied your man-made philosophy for the last four decades and ignored the word of God.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

BF one obtains the fruit of the Spirit after they are saved not so they will be saved. The faithfulness is what we as saved believers exhibit. We are saved by the grace of God because we believe. The C/R religion has made a complete mess of the gospel and salvation. You have trusted in your...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Granted not all the Jews were hardened as some did actually believe in Christ at that time. Even those that did not at that time believe could, as we see in scripture, come to faith in Him. We say the judicial blinding with Pharaoh and also with the leaders that crucified Christ. I looked at...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

That is what I said but it seems you can not understand clear english. What do you think "For the same reason he spoke to those he called "infants in Christ"." means Van.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

You better do some more bible study BF. The fleshly man can hear the gospel message, the power of God for salvation, and respond in faith. When they do they are then indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Agreed, but some believers do not get past the milk with out proper discipleship.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Note the context of this verse. We need to read 1Co_2:6-14 Note the wording of 1Co_2:14 NKJV. It say “the natural man does not receive G1209 the things of the Spirit of God” it does not say that he cannot receive them. While conviction by the Holy Spirit Joh_16:8, and the drawing by Christ...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

You sound much like @Brightfame52. You both seem to think everything is about you. And neither of you actually read a post. What do you think "For the same reason he spoke to those he called "infants in Christ"." means Van. Read what Paul wrote not what you think he wrote.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

For the same reason he spoke to those he called "infants in Christ". You really need to take the time to read a post and not just react. You have become a very difficult individual to deal with in the last few months. Are you having problems in your personal life?

To deny that was a work of God would take another level of denial.

Dave it seems to me that you are waffling between two views. You want God to determine all things but not those that make Him look bad. God is sovereign, that is not in question, and in His sovereignty He has given man a free will. Did God cause Christ to be crucified or did man in his free...
