Do you bring a Bible or a tablet to church?

Ouch!! In 10 months of paying that, I'd have an iPhone 8+ paid off and one more month and a half and I'd have Apple Care covered too. I'd rather pay cash. It is way cheaper.

    Podcast

We do just audio podcasts and I use Audacity for the editing, Amazon for the hosing and then we post it to the website. I'm JUST learning how to do it for one of our campuses so it takes me about 30 minutes total to do it all but once I've done it a bit, it should be a bit quicker. :) For...

Do you bring a Bible or a tablet to church?

And how much are you paying with Sprint? I have unlimited talk/text and data with throttling at 4g a month for $20 with Cricket. I don't get any credits to upgrade but I'm also not paying inflated charges for my plan. You were probably paying installments on the 6 and then when you upgraded...

Do you bring a Bible or a tablet to church?

Ancient? It is 4 years old and it is JUST out of the upgradability of the iPhone OS now. But it works fine so why the need to upgrade? It is costly to upgrade, you know.

Do you bring a Bible or a tablet to church?

Oh I can WAY more easily turn between "pages" and passages on my phone over the Bible and like I said, most young people "get" the digital devices so it is no worries. I would rather carry my phone which has many more applications on it than just a paper Bible because I can't fit the paper...

Do you bring a Bible or a tablet to church?

I disagree. I think most people - especially younger people - "get" the digital versions and it would be an equal testimony because it is not the device or the book but the Word of God that is powerful.

What would You do as Pastor

I think there is a lot to this story that we are not getting. Things were NOT handled in a Biblical manner and I think the time is long past when all parties should sit down together with the pastor and a senior deacon to discuss what happened and how to deal with it all. The teacher...

Do you bring a Bible or a tablet to church?

I always have my phone with me but I prefer my paper Bible. I have notes and added more even today. :) But if for some reason I forgot to add my Bible to my "Sunday bag", at least I have my phone!

I thought of that as I was typing it. :)

    Halloween

Word of Life has a similar song that we've been singing for years (I've never been to WoL but have friends who have): Happy birthday HUH Happy birthday HUH Sickness, famine and despair People dying everywhere Happy birthday HUH Happy birthday HUH

    I am setting a date

Our youth pastor used to laugh that Christ would return on his wedding day. He was quite the young man and VERY much looking forward to his wedding night. He said that just as they were ready to leave the church on his wedding day, he KNOWS he will hear the trump..... So of course on his...

    Halloween

Our church doesn't do anything for Halloween. At my house, we have a celebration because it is my son's birthday! He will be 17 this year! We do have candy for the neighbor kids who come around and if our kids want to get dressed up, we've done the standard Batman, princess, ballerina...

    Halloween

Of course! You can fit WAY more candy in that than a trunk!

Questions on a policy for parsonage

We have our "hospitality house" that was a house we purchased and moved to another plot of land that we use for missionaries, visiting speakers and at times, congregants who are in need. We used it one night when our furnace died, spewing carbon monoxide into the house and making the house...

Can you show the post in that thread that shows false teaching?

Would You Let a Known Lesbian Perform at Your Church???

"“Let’s have that conversation, “ Verdugo said. “I went to a Baptist church and I hold dear the teachings of Jesus. He came from a place of love, and we’re coming from a place of love, wanting to leave a whole lot of love in our wake.”" Wow....

California Can Now Jail People For Misusing Gender Pronouns

Seriously. So a nurse is changing the underclothing and diaper of a male who has just wet through their clothing. She calls him a "he" and she goes to jail because this man with male parts wants to be a "she"???? OY!!

    Homeschooler Court Victory

It's funny because a friend of mine was a homeschooler and her daughter was 10 before she could read. What was crazy was that she was a special ed teacher (with her doctorate) specializing in reading!! I remember sitting with her over coffee and she was crying and laughing over her frustration...

    Homeschooler Court Victory

I agree with you guys that this is not a victory for homeschooling. It actually has nothing to do with homeschooling at all other than to show that there are some people who should NOT be educating their children. I homeschooled for 19 years and it was the best thing I could have done in...

    Homeschooler Court Victory

Wow. I can't believe that a man would be that way and I'd be HIGHLY concerned that a man in our congregation was so angry, disrespectful and hateful as to act that way. To be honest, I do think that man would not be allowed to enter the church again. If he's comfortable doing that, what else...
