It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

Now K, when you point that finger there are 3 pointing back at you.

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

The 3 P's sound good to this old boy. The IFB could adopt that.

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

    Go out in Jesus Name

    Did we clear it up?

    Go out in Jesus Name

I can't do anything pleasing to God, only being in Christ will God give the Holy Spirit that brings about the opportunity for good works. We don't search out fruit for good works, they are laid daily in our paths.

It's Tough Being a IFB Believer

That makes 2 of us who don't know as single IFB Calvinist. Yes, I agree they/we are all anti-Calvinist. But yet we share many things in common, beginning with salvation is all the Lord's works.

    Go out in Jesus Name

I take no credit for what God has prepared for me to bear fruit. But He gives me credit anyway, credit I don't deserve. Everything is done by the Lord for us, we just have to be walking in the Spirit to be aware of the opportunities.

    Go out in Jesus Name

I'm not far from the end of my journey and I'll finish it depending only on His mercy and Grace.

    Go out in Jesus Name

I've got to get a few hours sleep. What it boils down to is a decision that every person makes whether they realize it or not. Our faith is based on the mercy and grace of God alone through faith, or based on God needing our good works to help us get over the finish line. There is no in...

    Go out in Jesus Name

Well you can keep up with the works added to faith for your salvation, but it will be rejected. It's written plainly for everyone to see, and there can be no excuses.

    Go out in Jesus Name

It can't be any clearer than this from Paul. Eph. 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Salvation is a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ. It's grace that we are not worthy of...

    Go out in Jesus Name

Pau is saying here that the election of grace to salvation is only by the grace of God without works. The works come after salvation to bring forth fruits for the Master.

    Go out in Jesus Name

You must come to the realization that we are saved by grace through faith alone, Cathode. Paul is speaking here of our initial salvation by grace and no works. Rom. 11:5-6 "Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then...

    Go out in Jesus Name

I agree all of that is needed and will be supplied by faith. But all of that comes AFTER we are saved by grace through faith alone. I have shown you before in one of our conversations how our salvation is either works or faith it can't be both. Do you remember the Scripture where works...

    Go out in Jesus Name

Of course I understand what they are saying, I've already explained it. I separate works from my faith that saved me (my initial salvation), and then those works are proving my submission to Christ by producing fruits that have been planned and organized for me by the Holy Spirit. I live my...

    Go out in Jesus Name

Would you agree that the Love of God comes from being born-again through the indwelling Holy Spirit?
  17. C

    Go out in Jesus Name

Where does love come from? Rom. 5:5 "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
  18. C

    Go out in Jesus Name

You still don't understand that Love is a byproduct of the faith that saves.

    Go out in Jesus Name

Cornelius believed God and loved him, but he was not saved because he didn't know his salvation was in Christ, the reason God sent Peter to him. But you are technically correct. Although I'm speaking of the natural man that did not know God as Cornelius.

    Go out in Jesus Name

If you can't understand that before being born-again there can be no Godly love in man, and that man is saved by faith and repentance alone, I would say you're a Catholic. One that must work his way to heaven, seeking the other Door that Christ spoke of.
