Before the Foundation of the World

Just that the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man are not enemies in His Word. So they should be friends. And nobody has to reconcile friends. Even if you can't explain their friendship.

    President John Tyler

I wonder what those g- g-children think about his name being removed-- or half removed-- from John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas. It is now just Tyler H.S. But the city Tyler was also named for that president. If you take the John out of the school, ... forget it.

Is it a sin to judge?

I'm the one who first brought up the jury question, and now I have a jury summons for July 12 in a U.S. district court. I previously had a federal jury call that was changed twice to last February, then finally canceled. Is this just coincidental, or do they keep names from canceled litigation...

    Your Opinion On Cherry-Picking Verses.....

Too bad they didn't go on to the next verse-- "Why do you cry unto me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward!" I think the Living Bible says it as "Stop praying and get the people moving!"

Is it a sin to judge?

I don't see any differentiation of "...decide which points are proven, not to make moral or spiritual judgments about people." If you decide value points are proven, then you are judging the person thereby accused. And in the scripture references about not judging, "moral or spiritual" is not...

I lift up your mother in prayer for the cause of her illness to be discovered and for the knowledge of treatment to be wisely applied.

Apostles, prophets and manifestations of the Holy Spirit

You are correct; I was getting the terms confused, though you've got to admit that's just some kind of fine distinction somebody thought up. But remember the biblical test of a true prophet [Deuteronomy 18:21-22], and what is characterized as "fothtelling" is not subject to that test; therefore...

Apostles, prophets and manifestations of the Holy Spirit

This compels me to think of Peter Popoff and the tiny radio receiver in his ear. If anyone is going to prove to me they are a prophet (forthtelling) they will have to give a date for something to happen and it will have to happen. If anyone claims to have the gift of healing, I will have to see...

    Your Definition of a Fundamenlist

Fundamentalist? That's giving money to a clairvoyant.

What is the worst Christmas song?

I might have included the song I composed about the visit of the magi, but only 2 or 3 besides me have ever heard it.

Is Sunday sacredness in the Bible?

They do not believe in an eternal hell/lake of fire, so they're not concerned about people suffering eternal torment for the wrong day. All cults do away with that idea, or they would be less attractive. But as you probably know, after the adventist movement was wrong twice in naming the date...

Does Matthew 5:18 support KJV-only reasoning?

As Jesus was specifically talking about The Law, then if that verse supports 'KJV only,' and the kjv is a revelation itself, that should obligate us to the whole law, as Paul put it in Galatians. So the Law in this Anglican version is perfect, while in Hebrew or Greek it may not be-- or what's...

God given unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

Well, that's about enough of this. Where does the idea come from that, even on points on which we agree, there's some egotistical need to be argumentative? When you argue with this, it's not likely I'll be responding, with better things to do today.

God given unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

Do you have the idea that we differ about the negativity for our nation about a sense of entitlement? And jamming the word "automatically" in changes nothing. But on some posts you say you are not talking about the country and legal rights therein, and then in some, like this, you are. L no!

    Are miracles always instantaneous?

But under his natural laws and processes. The subject here is not his providence-- air, water, trees, other people.... but miracles, in which he allows his natural laws and processes to be temporarily suspended.
