Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Please, being obedient to the Lord's commands is NOT salvation by works. There are many NT verses about obedience, and holiness, and enduring to the end, and practicing righteousness, and etc.? Those who are habitually sinning (w/o repentance) are NOT on their way to heaven. Give me a break ...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

This is all Kindergarden stuff Dave, it's time to move on from slurping milk to eating the necessary meat to obtain eternal life. Everyone knows we are born-again via the will of God (and not the flesh). Apparently, you are rejecting the many dire warnings in the NT that BACs CAN lose their...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

BACs must depend on God's grace to be saved. I even believe that God must first make a BIG-TIME move on behalf of the non-believer! Witness Lydia in Acts 16:14. Butski, BACs have the free-will to reject God's glorious grace and, for example, live a life of habitual sin. This would be rejecting...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

A covenant requires both parties to do their part for it to work. And a saving covenant requires both parties to do their part. We BACs must co-operate with the precious Holy Spirit ... as He strives to sanctify us unto holiness ... during the process of sanctification. The new covenant has...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Saving faith demands continuing belief, faith, trust, and obedience! Haven't you heard that fear of God is the beginning wisdom? This refers to a healthy fear of God's wrath (which can be poured out upon believers) and also a healthy reverence of God.

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Jesus was saying that God's plan (and His purpose) for coming to earth was finished. BTW, the above is Kindergarden talk ... Jesus didn't come to earth; the Word came to earth (and became flesh). Prior to the Incarnation ... the Triune Godhead was the Father, the Word, and Holy Spirit.

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

You don't understand that the new covenant is about salvation by grace, but that grace may be rejected by continuing in a lifestyle of habitual sinning (i.e. without repentance). Obeying the Lord's commandments is NOT salvation by works, but it is simply obedience! John 14 ... Those who love...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Hebrews 10 (NKJV): 38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” 39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. I suppose you see that this is talking about believers who are...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Why don't we look at specifics instead of generalities? If a non-believer is a habitual (unrepentant) adulterer he/she goes to hell. If a BAC is a habitual (unrepentant) adulterer he/she goes to heaven. Isn't the grace of God wonderful? Not on My watch, the Lord says!

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

This has been a fun favorite of mine for a few years ... Hebrews 10 (NKJV): 38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” 39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. A trinity of...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Oh, man, another one of those! Please, Lord, give me a break! Question to everyone: Have you put this deluded one on "IGNORE" yet? FYI, da mostest famous one is probably ... "Choose ye this day cursing or blessing." (paraphrased from the OT)

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

The OP reveals a loss of salvation by NT verses/passages! I have a very simple and logical question (of which I know the answer, BTW) ... WHY do BACs insist on ignoring and/or rejecting the NT warning verses/passages about losing salvation?

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

MIGHT ... and are there some BACs who will not, do not, etc. examine and deal? News Flash ... all humans are created with free will. Working against co-operating with the Holy Spirit are Satan and the flesh. It's two against One. The One being that still small voice of the Holy Spirit. If you...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

What's wrong with Romans 6:16 in the OP? If a BAC chooses to remain a slave of sin, he/she ends up experiencing eternal death. If a BAC chooses to be a slave of obedience, he/she ends up being considered righteous. (BAC = Born-Again Christian) BTW, yesterday I heard Cefalo Dollar on TV say ...

Absolutely ... of course they are! But, we are responsible for heeding them.

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Then, why all of the many warning verses in the NT (written to the churches)? Answer: They are all there for people like you to ignore/reject. And Jesus gave quite a few instructive warnings as well ... to everyone in the Gospels.

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Yes, so do I. For only our old-past-previous sins (before being born again) have been cleansed by Jesus' blood (2 Peter 1:9).

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

Each of these topics has several verses supporting it … ● Loving Jesus leads to obedience – this maintains our salvation “IF you love me, obey my commandments. … You are my friends, IF you do what I command.” (John 14:15, 15:14, NLT) Do people who do NOT obey Jesus’ commands...

Understanding the NT re: eternal security

When I became born-again ... I was totally OPEN with no pre-conceived false doctrines. And now also ... I believe in no unscriptural doctrines, but I believe in what the NT clearly teaches! Some years ago, I collected approximately 20 NT passages which clearly threaten the loss of salvation...
