    What Day Did Christ Die?

As I understand it, which can't be proven by the way, is that the High Sabbath fell on a Fri., which was the preparation day for the weekly Sasbbath. It was placed on Thur. with Fri. the preparation day for the weekly Sabbath which was normal. They were in a hurry to get Christ in the tomb...

Post # 9, I pulled from online as quick reference.

    What Day Did Christ Die?

I'm not saying the length of time is changed, I'm saying there were 2 Sabbaths that week.

    What Day Did Christ Die?

The scholars specifically point out the "High Day" in John 19:31 is referring to one of the 7 High Sabbaths. In this case it's the First Day of Unleavened Bread. It's moved to Thur. with Fri. being the preparation day for the weekly Sabbath.

    What Day Did Christ Die?

Post # 10 is how I understand it being these High Sabbaths could fall any day of the week. That's what I gathered from the scholars, and it fits with Christ crucified on Wed.

    What Day Did Christ Die?

How do you understand the placement of the High Sabbath days in correlation with the weekly Sabbaths?

    What Day Did Christ Die?

According to Lev. 23:5-6, the 14th is the Passover, beginning on the 15th the unleavened bread taken. But this is an oversight, unleavened bread is eaten with the Passover on the 14th as you said. I copied the 7 High Sabbaths online and didn't see it, but you did! That's some good attention...

    What Day Did Christ Die?

What separates dummy Charlie24 from the scholars is they say if the High Sabbath falls in a weekday it's placed before the weekly Sabbath. When I studied this years ago I didn't understand it and never pursued it. Maybe you know something about what I was to lazy to pursue.

    What Day Did Christ Die?

There are 7 feasts yearly that are High Sabbaths, days of rest. First Day of Unleavened Bread: 15th of Abib/Nisan (Lev. 23:6-7). Last Day of Unleavened Bread: 21st of Abib/Nisan (Lev. 23:8). Feast of Weeks (Pentecost): (Lev. 23:21). Feast of Trumpets: 1st of Tishri (Lev. 23:24-25). Day of...

    Dead In Sin 2.0

To make my position clear for what it's worth, man is able on his own to reason the Gospel when he hears it, but totally unable to come to the knowledge of the truth (salvation) without the drawing of the Holy Spirit when the Gospel is heard. This is not the same total depravity as claimed by...

    What Day Did Christ Die?

That particular timeline coincides with a full 3 days and 3 night in the tomb. Most but not all scholars believe this to be what actually happened, the ones I've read anyway.

    What Day Did Christ Die?

I won't argue it, but I believe as many that preparation day in John 19:31 was not for the weekly Sabbath but the yearly "High Sabbath."

SBC Disfellowships 2 Churches at February Executive Committee Meeting for Appointing Women as Pastors

I don't know much about the SBC, but our IFB independently supports missionaries. Back in the day, don't know about now, that was a difference.

    Supreme Court Blocks Trump Tariffs

It's like Treasury Sec. Bessent said, the POTUS has a great big tool box to pull from. I'm thinking it's a bullet he can dodge and carry on.

    Supreme Court Blocks Trump Tariffs

Yes, that was brought up also, and I agree, and if any of it is left to Congress nothing will get done. It seems it's the same as us here on the boards, whose interpretation is the correct one?

    Supreme Court Blocks Trump Tariffs

Judge Kavanaugh ruled for Trump and in his ruling quoted the other sections of the Constitution that allowed him tariff control in different situations without engaging Congress. So it will be interesting how this turns out.

    Supreme Court Blocks Trump Tariffs

I heard 2 different Constitution experts say Trump can use the tariffs the way he is doing under several sections of the Constitution. They said the SCOTUS decision is under just one of those sections. They also said this decision was to hopefully engage Congress, citing Trump is overreaching...

    Supreme Court Blocks Trump Tariffs

The Treasury recorded $195 Billion increase in 2025 from global tariffs. From what I hear Trump is pulling Executive strings in his power. We will have to wait and see what actually happens.

This means that fat check we were looking for from the tariffs is no more.
