    The Bishop of Ephesus

All sources have their agendas. RCC historians have revised history according to their own agenda. I am not sure what bias or what color of eye-glass the book you refer is looking through. No doubt it is not completely objective. It has a purpose for being written. Here is what Smith writes...

The Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem. .....the Church

Let't look at with an open mind and objectively, keeping in mind that Scripture cannot contradict Scripture. The context of Psalm 54:4. Start with verse one: Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: --It is a...

I agree with it too. I never denied. it.

    The Bishop of Ephesus

    1. Where does it say that all Asia turned against Timothy in particular. 2. Even if all the world did turn against Timothy, that would be nothing more than a compliment. Did you know that everyone of the Apostles were martyred for their faith except for the Apostle John who was eventually...

The Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem. .....the Church

Did I say he isn't? My statement is not a denial. Let me make it more clear for you. Neither Jehovah nor Christ (who is Jehovah) has been or is called "the God of the whole earth." That will only happen in the Millennial Kingdom. Some here are so confused by basic English grammar that they...

The Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem. .....the Church

Did I deny that Christ is Jehovah? You do greatly err in assuming to believe what you do not know, and end up falsely accusing me. Christ is in heaven. Who rules this earth? 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the...

The Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem. .....the Church

But you do falsely accuse me. Christ is omnipresent perhaps in a way we cannot understand. He indwells every believer, does He not? Yet at the same time he retains a physical body and sits on the right hand at the throne of God. How can a finite man comprehend an infinite God. That is what Psalm...

The Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem. .....the Church

He doesn't occupy any of those places, neither your house either. He sits on the right hand of God interceding for us. He still has a body. He is our Great High Priest. He will come again. But right now His ministry is intercessory, not that of a monarch. Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his...

The Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem. .....the Church

Alan P. Ross's comments, as recorded in the Bible Knowledge Commentary summarize Psalm 139 this way: God’s omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence are the subjects of David’s meditations in this beautiful psalm. In this psalm David asked God to examine him thoroughly to affirm his innocence...

    Who Populates the Millennial Kingdom?

I believe it is called "Millennial" Kingdom for a reason. Now, how long ago did Christ die??

The Heavenly Zion and Jerusalem. .....the Church

Evidently it is future. More than 20% of the world are Muslims and some of them led by radicals like ISIS. The kingdom is not worldwide and never has been. Neither Jehovah nor Christ has been or is called "the God of the whole earth." That will only happen in the Millennial Kingdom.

    The Bishop of Ephesus

Actually I did. I also went to your link, a blog set up by an IT technician who just studies the Bible as an aside. Not much credentials there. It gave opinion, not fact. You can't refute scripture. You simply say it is wrong, and that is all. Where is your refutation of the scripture itself?

    The Bishop of Ephesus

1 Timothy 1:3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, --This is a church that needed a pastor. Paul had raised up Timothy as a spiritual son. Now he was mature enough to take charge of his own...

Catholicism is not compatible with Christianity

Pope Gregory the Great, writing at the end of the 6th century states that the book of 1 Maccabees is NOT canonical. Cardinal Cajetan, the leading scholar in the Church of Rome at the time of the Reformation affirms that the Church of his day followed the authority of Jerome and he suggests that...

The Crux of Keeping the Sabbath Day Contention

The Westminster Confession of Faith concerning the Sabbath (Christian Sabbath) VII. As it is the law of nature, that, in general, a due proportion of time be set apart for the worship of God; so, in His Word, by a positive, moral, and perpetual commandment, binding all men, in all ages, He hath...

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

Why is it dumb? Do you keep either one? the London CofC or the Westminster CofF? If you say yes, I would say you are a hypocrite, unless you are a very unusual individual. Here is what they both say regarding one point. Westminster: VIII. This Sabbath is then kept holy unto the Lord, when...

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

Equating my beliefs with Finney's is name-calling enough, just as I would call you an "Augustinian. To put an end to it here are some of Finney's beliefs as quoted by David O'Beale in his book, "In Pursuit of Holiness: The pragmatic tendency was revealed in Finney’s attitude toward revivals...

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

Look, stop the name-calling. If my Sof F is based on Finney then it is obvious your is based on the Catholic Church. You took it from the teachings of Augustine one of the Fathers of the RCC. It is nothing but Augustinianism, the person whom Calvin got most of his teaching. So your Reformed...

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

Do they? You attend a Reformed Baptist Church? Do they have their own Statement of Faith or rely solely on the Westminster? or some other 17th C. document? L.C.or Faith perhaps? Do they have their own constitution or pattern after one of the Puritans or maybe Spugeon's? Are you still stuck back...
