Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

It is not a document such as the archaic Westminster CoF (1647) which certain churches and individuals ascribe to. But rather I was using a current statement of faith to quote the position on salvation that one individual ascribes to. Apples and oranges. I also have a statement of faith.

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

Debate the issues. Lay off the inflammatory language. I will answer your posts when you have something to say addressed to the OP or the substance of my post related to the OP, not personal attacks.

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

I would appreciate it if you use this forum for what its intended use and nothing else but--that is, debate. It is not a sounding board for your bombastic accusatory and cowardly attacks against others. It is a coward that sits behind his computer with anonymity and hurls insults at others...

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

But we don't live a sinless life. We do sin, and we sin as a result of not abiding in Christ; as a result of being pulled away by our own "carnal nature" which we still have. Paul wrote to the saints in Christ, to the brethren, to those who were saved. It was a carnal church. He wrote to...

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

So Paul lied?? 1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

Where does he say that specifically?

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

As Dr. Pickering critiqued John MacArthur's book on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he said: 3. The distinction commonly made between the carnal Christian and the spiritual Christian is invalid. This is a familiar theme, particularly among Reformed theologians such as Lloyd-Jones, mentioned...

Do Christians Have an Inner Struggle with Sin or the Flesh?

(EMTV) for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal, and walking according to human principles? (ESV) for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a...

Where does faith come from? 2nd Rodeo

Are you not having a very good day SG. Your demeanor certainly has changed? I will ask you the same question that I asked Icon. If Isa. 66 is speakng of the church and/or the new birth then give an answer for the rest of the context: Is this happening today or has ever happened in history? Isa...

Where does faith come from? 2nd Rodeo

Perhaps you should have a round or two with Steaver. Your position is highly suspect and very debatable. The new birth is also known as regeneration. Steaver's position (as is the same position as many others) is that regeneration did not start until Pentecost with the indwelling of the Holy...

Where does faith come from? 2nd Rodeo

If your only motive on this board is to disparage dispensationalism you don't belong here. And you certainly are off topic. That is not what the thread is about. With this kind of post you lose a debate before you even begin.

Where does faith come from? 2nd Rodeo

Perhaps allegory in referring to Isaiah 66 is not the best word to use. Jehovah is speaking to Israel and using descriptive language explaining to Israel how in the end times she will be restored to her land. It, in no way, refers to the church. Read the context. Now answer this one question...

1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto...

Where does faith come from? 2nd Rodeo

Let's consider the Scriptures instead of philosophizing. Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. --Salvation sought; Salvation received through faith; salvation...

Where does faith come from? 2nd Rodeo

Man doesn't "do" Man doesn't have "his part" Man has a responsibility to respond to God. When man stands before God he shall give an account of himself. He will have no excuse for not trusting Christ (Rom.1:20; Mark 1:16) There is no "doing" in receiving Christ, in being justified by faith...

Where does faith come from? 2nd Rodeo

God is always sovereign. Man is always responsible. If God offers man a gift, and one so precious that it will save his soul and forgive his sins, it would only be proper and fitting that man should, by faith, accept that gift that he may be saved. The reception of the gift is not a work. Faith...

PLEASE!!! Take your accusatory sewage and spew it elsewhere. We don't need it here. If you are not here to debate, there is a door. You are welcome to leave.

I agree. Does that mean it is applicable to you? John 8:44 for example?
