    Iran nuclear deal....

Who is this 'everyone' of whom you speak? And, I do understand that I am saved from sin and its consequences - eternal death - to eternal life with my Lord and Saviour, Jesus.

The Bible says a lot of things

Sorry, I don't 'do' proof texting

    Iran nuclear deal....

Those two statements are utterly at variance...hence we come full circle to the absolute need to read the OT through the NT...otherwise you end up with the bloodthirsty monster painted by your first paragraph

    Iran nuclear deal....

So do you worship a being that butchers children? Yes or no
  6. M

    Iran nuclear deal....

Which I do...just not according to your interpretation of the Bible. I don't want my kids to worship a murderous monster out of fear but a loving Father out of love. How about you?

The Bible says a lot of things

All well and good...but the trouble is that your above interpretation also questions the need for the preaching of the Gospel: if people are condemned or acquitted by their conscience as they either do or don't love God and neighbour, then there is no need for the Gospel to be added to that -...

I'm asking you to define the term 'nation'. It's a honest question which you seem incapable of answering.

    Iran nuclear deal....

As a father, one of the things I do for my children is to protect them from people and things which can harm them...which includes the (false, as i think it) imago Dei conjured up by you. [*ETA: if I have misunderstood your position, I...

    Iran nuclear deal....

You only have that problem if you take all of the OT literally. You can either take it literally or you can take it seriously through the eyes of the NT, but you cannot do both. This is where you've come a cropper, IMHO

    Iran nuclear deal....

Then why bother with the New? Why not stick to the Old wineskins and become a Jew?
  15. M

    Iran nuclear deal....

A literal interpretation of those Scriptures requires painting God as the inciter of murder and genocide, which is both blasphemous and inconsistent with the NT. Hence the requirement to read the OT through the lens of the New to avoid getting unstuck in that way.

That's what MPs do - they are there in part to hold the government to account

The Bible says a lot of things

But this thread is concerned with those who do not

    Iran nuclear deal....

It's an allegation that is disputed by the UK Government. And I think you and Reynolds need to have a chat about the definition of 'terrorist'.
