Au contraire, I read and understand the Old through the lens of the New. You might want to give that a try.
Please explain Gods direct commands to annihilate enemies including women, children and babies.
You understand nothing.

A literal interpretation of those Scriptures requires painting God as the inciter of murder and genocide, which is both blasphemous and inconsistent with the NT. Hence the requirement to read the OT through the lens of the New to avoid getting unstuck in that way.

I guess God meant it figuratively. You know ?

Remember, Matt thinks God lies about himself in the OT, and has stated that there is more than one way to atone for sin. The God Matt worships is not a jealous or angry God.

You only have that problem if you take all of the OT literally. You can either take it literally or you can take it seriously through the eyes of the NT, but you cannot do both. This is where you've come a cropper, IMHO

Whereas apparently* you worship one who butchers children. As a father, one of the things I do for my children is to protect them from people and things which can harm them...which includes the (false, as i think it) imago Dei conjured up by you.

[*ETA: if I have misunderstood your position, I would be delighted to be corrected.]

You further demonstrate your complete ignorance of scripture.

He worships a god of his own design.

I have no problem with you saying I worship a different God than you do.

As a father, the best thing you could do for your kids is ding The God of The Bible and teach them His ways.
