Is it even Biblical to Pray for a Person’s Salvation?

I did not state that only some would be saved, i said a number which no man could number. If there is an election then there is a guarantee that someone will be saved. That makes for evangalistic zeal. Why pray? Why preach? because God has ordained the means that his elect will be brought in...

    Church language

I think people have changed the words saved and born again to the popular phrases of today like, I accepted the Lord, or I gave my life to Jesus, or I committed my life to the Lord, or I made a proffession, I made a decision. When i hear someone use phrases like these to describe their...

Is it even Biblical to Pray for a Person’s Salvation?

If any group believes in praying for the lost it would be calvinists, after all we know that God died for a number that no man can number but if God died for the whole world why pray at all, because their already saved.

How did Jesus know and grow here below?

Luke 2:40 And the child (Christ) grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. In Luke 1:15 scripture say's that John Baptist was filled with the Holy Ghost even from his mothers womb and in Luke 1:44 John leaped in the womb for joy as soon as he heard...

Is it even Biblical to Pray for a Person’s Salvation?

I could give you this scripture in 1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his WILL, he heareth us: And if we know that he heareth us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. And then i could give...

    The Dove...

The Dove could represent the born again christians as they travels this earth as pilgrims, she finds no rest for the sole of her foot. The raven didn't come back, so as the lost worldlings they love the world and are partakers with the world.

    Bible debate

I have always read from a KJV but since reading this thread i thumb through the NIV version. I looked at the scripture St. John 3:16 and in the KJV it say's, should not perish but in the NIV it say's, shall not perish. I believe in the eternal security of the saved but the word shall not is...

God does not require his people to choose between calvinism and arminianism

You may teach theology but there's nothing systematic about your theology.

God does not require his people to choose between calvinism and arminianism

Rev Mitchell, I have a question. When you teach or preach on theology of Cals and Arminians do you just state the different views to the listeners and let it go at that ? Also when you preach to a congregation, how do you get around not leaning to one system or the other. When i listen to...

The Mark of a True Calvinist

I think what might make cals a little defensive is because in the real world or in my world cal teaching is somewhat new to churches. I live in the Arminian bible belt, LOL. I myself came out of Arminianism. I was at one time a rank Arminian, then as time went by i began to see eternal security...

    Christian Profanity

What about the word bloody which the British people consider a vulgar word, which has no vulgar meaning in America. In TN. a lot of people own hunting dogs. If i was to call my neighbor up on the telephone and make a statement, you have a bunch of bloody dogs out in your kennel, he would...

The calvinist system tries to reconcile things that cannot be reconciled in this worl

Yea bub, i've read these post by some on the BB board how they are one pointers and three pointers or whatever and that don't make a lot of since to me. As far as i'm concerned there's not but two ways to believe, it's either grace and nothing but grace or works. If it's by grace it is no more...

The calvinist system tries to reconcile things that cannot be reconciled in this worl

This is the interpretation of the foreknowledge of God by Arminians. I could have put it another way, God look down through time and saw who would believe on him, so these are the ones that he fore ordained to salvation.

The calvinist system tries to reconcile things that cannot be reconciled in this worl

The key word in this verse is ordained. Ordained means to appoint, determine. If one believes God appoints or detemines only those whom he foreknew would believe in him by their free will then the next thing a person would have to believe is the will is not in bondage to the nature of man. This...

    ...all things to work together...

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Paul maybe is looking back on past experiences as one who has proven salvation and declares, and we know as in verse 38 when he said i am persuaded. He knows...

Old folks who think they love old things

That song is geared to stir up our emotions to patriotism like a lot of gospel gingles stir up our emotions to win the victory for jesus instead of stirring the spirit that is within us to worship.
