is John Stott Viewed As being A reputable Theologian ?

Stott is great. Like mentioned above, one will not always agree w/ him on every point. But when does that ever happen? I highly recommend his book on the Sermon on the Mount.

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

I read the last one... very helpful, thanks!

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

Semantics if you ask me. But I wanted the one-sidedness so I could hear different Calvinists on the issue. I already know where non-Calvi's stand, so that does not help me any but slows the thread down (or gets it to page 10 and closes; case and point).

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

Forgive me but no... I thought it was understood Plus... I would love clarification or correction if you could proffer any. DP is simply God predestining some unto salvation and others to damnation. The second predestination can be equated with reprobation.

Temple Judgment -- how many and when?

no one has any thoughts on this??? All we want to debate is calvinism around here?????

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

Thanks for the heads up... Unfortunately... the other "duplicate" thread has already deteriorated into another rabbit trail as did the first. Even more unfortunate is that this one is doing the same. It is hard to get Biblical discussion going around here I fear.

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

Ok... but you didn't address the verse I mentioned. All else is pontification if it is not supported by Scripture but only a "no" and a systematic explanation.

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

So... I don't care that someone else started another thread piggybacking off of what I was trying to do amongst Calvinists.

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

I know it may have been a yes or no question... but w/out explaining or proving your answer is pontification. Plus, I wanted this to be for Calvinists. Pretty sure you aren't one (although I could be wrong).

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

That wasn't much of an answer. It was a quotation from a weak commentary.

For Calvinists only (please) -- Double Predestination again

Well since I started the first thread... I figured I would start the 2nd thread. Plus, I intended interaction amongst Calvinists... so...

Doesn't Rom. 9:21-22 teach double predestination?

Temple Judgment -- how many and when?

not cleansing... How many times did Jesus prophetically announce judgment upon the temple? When did he do it? John mentions a judgment early in his gospel, although that is not necessarily chronological but theological placement (perhaps). The easiest explanation I can come up with is that...

For the Calvi's -- Do you hold to double predestination?

Still waiting for someone (aka jbh28) to respond to Rom. 9:21-22 teaching double predestination. I understand your point in that people "send themselves to hell" by sinning. But doesn't Paul teach that they were created for that purpose... to go to hell... thus making God the final arbiter of...

For the Calvi's -- Do you hold to double predestination?

OK people... this was not meant to turn into an infant salvation issue. I've mentioned Rom. 9:21-22 about double predestination, but no one has really addressed it directly. Only one came close to mentioning it in passing. Any thoughts on this subject???

For the Calvi's -- Do you hold to double predestination?

Thank you for not taking the bait to hijack or rabbit trail this thread. What are your thoughts on the passages I quoted above?
  17. Greektim

For the Calvi's -- Do you hold to double predestination?

Doesn't Rom. 9:21-22 teach double predestination or reprobation? Rom 9:21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? Rom 9:22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has...

For the Calvi's -- Do you hold to double predestination?

Or better the term reprobation? Why or why not? I'll come out and say that I see biblical and logical reason for believing God created some for honor and some for common use.

Did God's presence ever return to the temple after the exile???

Eze 10:18 Then the glory of the LORD went out from the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.
