    If We Believe

Thank you very much. More following the example of Christ and His politeness-- e.g., "You brood of vipers!" Yeah, I might notice. No. I didn't know there was such a division between "those who misuse religion" and "sinners." I wonder how hard he would/did come down on Paul for his...

    If We Believe

Your OP refers to Christ as the "model," so shut up about something he did not staying on topic. The OP says nothing about the government? Okay, but you did make the statement, "So Christ was a liberal." You are not going to make a political statement and then think you can order other posters...

    If We Believe

Nothing is wrong with helping others. If you think it's your duty before God to do so and you want to use the government strongarm of force to do it for you, you definitely do not advocate separation of church and state. How "hard" do you come down on those who abuse religion? Do you follow His...

Okay, if I see moneychangers in the house of God, I'll knock over their tables and chase them out with a whip.

John 8:3-11 : The Case Against Christians Supporting Capital Punishment

Okay, it's as simple as this then: you put the life of one who has committed the worst sin against man that can be committed as equal to one who has committed no sin. I strongly, thoroughly, completely, disagree. Yes or No: Is God's covenant with Noah and his sons still valid?

John 8:3-11 : The Case Against Christians Supporting Capital Punishment

I guess you're right on that. Jesus referred to the head of state as a female fox-- let's follow his example and do the same. And the one here in the USA wanted to take all the credit for putting an international terrorist leader to death. Or was that alright because it wasn't 'capital...

More On The GOP Pushback To School Lunch Mandate

To assure life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by stopping people from infringing on others' rights to these things. I certainly don't think that includes shoving broccoli down schoolkids' throats or just giving the garbage cans a healthier diet.

John 8:3-11 : The Case Against Christians Supporting Capital Punishment

Share the details on that. Exactly who did HE tell to make copies and copies of copies, then who did HE puppeteer to choose which, among all those, are to be scripture.

    Strange and twisted logic

And muslims hijack airplanes and kill thousands because their holy book tells them to kill the 'infidels,' and no regulation of that book whatsoever.

John 8:3-11 : The Case Against Christians Supporting Capital Punishment

It's not the original authors I was referring to, but the scribes who wrote every copy, some based on other copies, and on and on... and the ones who chose which writings make up scripture, who had to be at least scholarly enough to read, write, and comprehend.

John 8:3-11 : The Case Against Christians Supporting Capital Punishment

Is that write? Somebody chose what words are included in the Word of God. Who did it and how was it done?

John 8:3-11 : The Case Against Christians Supporting Capital Punishment

That is not a question of any real substance because when you read the word of God you are reading the words of scholars, per se. Or did God himself personally scribe what it is you're reading?

    Maya angelou's final recorded words

If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you [John 15:19]. Read and ponder.

John 8:3-11 : The Case Against Christians Supporting Capital Punishment

While there is a reasonable doubt about that scripture being valid, as it does not appear in the oldest manuscripts available-- where there is a reasonable doubt, do we convict by it? Nevertheless, if we assume that it is valid, there are a lot of possibilities about the unknown variables...

Being a cynic linked to tripled risk of developing dementia

Methuselah must have been a smiling jackass all those centuries. But supposing this study is true-- and a statement near the end says there were not enough subjects to be conclusive-- could dementia not be just an outgrowth, or maturity, of a tendency toward cynicism? After all, paranoia is a...

    Memorial Day Concert

Regardless of your dislike for fruit cocktail, and whoever "her" is, do you mean that Paul's command in I Corinthians 5, to expel the particularly sinful man from their fellowship, was unsound theologically; and thus much NT scripture is worthless or evil? Yes, including one with a loaded gun...
