    Go out in Jesus Name

The book.by the Protestant, N.T. Wright, 'What Paul Really Said' regarding justification turns the position that Charlie has been fed and keeps repeating on it's head.

    Go out in Jesus Name

Very informative via The Office of The Anglican Communion: The Joint Declaration On Justification. I also appreciate the perspective of N.T. Wright on this historic declaration: https://www.anglicancommunion.org/media/460306/ecumenism_joint-declaration_2019_en.pdf

    Go out in Jesus Name

That is a distortion of what the Church teaches. The Church doesn't teach works based salvation. Do you have the right relationship with Christ? Have you sincerely sought God? I have read many of your posts on the BB, I know the answer to these questions.

    Go out in Jesus Name

Actually, the teaching of The Catholic Church is: The Catholic Church teaches that salvation comes solely from Christ through his Body, the Church ("outside the Church there is no salvation"). However, this does not mean only formal Catholics are saved; those who, through no fault of their...

    Go out in Jesus Name

That's because there's NO writings of anyone in the Early Church that supports the claim that there were Baptistic type churches anywhere. Even Waldensians were Catholic to the core.

    Go out in Jesus Name

While the roles were fluid in the Apostolic age, by A.D. 110, Ignatius of Antioch (Disciple of St. John) established that bishops, priests, and deacons were distinct and essential to the Church's structure. The Church grew and evolved. There are many things in Baptist churches that you don't...

Thank you for sharing this with me. My wife's cancer is presently in remission, however, she has a type of Parkinsons that advances quickly as well as COPD. She is on Palliative care and I'm almost always with her. Holding her often is extremely important to me. I am grateful for every...

    The Quaker revival

I don't doubt that there are still students and faculty that are biblically sound and take their commitment to Jesus seriously at George Fox U. But, from what I have heard and read regarding the behavior of much of the student body, it appears to me that George Fox is going the way of the world...

    The Quaker revival

Oh, for Pete's sake! George Fox University here in Oregon is pretty liberal if you ask me! Are you familiar with their position on LGBTQXYZ? That's all you need to know about how 'evangelical' they are. The University is up the road from us and I have close friends with kids there. Quite the...

    The Quaker revival

You know far more about the Quakers than I do. This is why I became a member of the BB. I don't think there's been a visit I have made to this board that I have not learned something new. Thanks for sharing this.

    The Quaker revival

I am not familiar with them, but I am happy to see a Bible believing association of Friends congregations exists. My first two years as an undergraduate in college were at Biola university in LA Mirada, CA. I often attended church with other Biola students at Granada Heights Friends Church...

    The Quaker revival

Not the ones I know in Oregon anyway. There are evangelical Friends congregations in California but I believe they are in a minority. I love their pacifist positions though but most seem to be very liberal theologically. The Quakers had a big presence in the Gay Pride parade in Eugene, Oregon.

    Avoiding the Evil Mills

Thanks for posting this. Many years ago I spent my first two years at Biola. I can't tell you how many WASTED hours were spent debating The Eschatology Mill. This was right after Hal Lindsey published 'The Late Great Planet Earth'. I remember driving by a Baptist church, each corner of their...

    Eschatology

Oseas3 also claims that the Holy Spirit is Jesus brother with no biblical support. Many of his whacked out claims but him in the lunatic fringe of Christianity. He usually just makes some absurd claims followed with long cut & paste excepts of biblical text that never support his claims. If...

I wasn't aware the Ev Free church downplayed baptism. Nothing the UU does or doesn't do surprises me.

    The Quaker revival

I am so sorry to hear that your wife passed. I can't imagine the grief from such a loss, but I one day will. The state of Christian churches here in Oregon is sad. Many church closings and the ones not closing are aging out. The majority of people I have worked with in Oregon describe...
