    Born Anew?

You needed some calvinist teacher to tell you that? I just read my bible.

    Do You believe in God?

Van many people have been saved and never knew of the trinity or do you think none of the OT saints were saved? And in the present day people are saved through faith in Christ Jesus. Later they will learn more and have the Trinity explained but knowing about the Trinity is not a requirement for...

    Why worry about False Teachers?

You seem to assume that others are not able. That is an errant view that comes form your calvinist misunderstanding of free will. All are able to either humble themselves or to remain in the prideful ways they make the choice that is what free will means. I know that does not fit your...

    Why worry about False Teachers?

I answered the questions you just do not like the answers. You think I should answer as a calvinist but my answers are from the bible so they do not fit your particular view.

    Why worry about False Teachers?

Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Joh 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

    Why worry about False Teachers?

I cannot answer for @th1bill but I can give you my answer. What was the right time? When I was ready to humble myself before God and ask for His forgiveness. Jas_4:10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you. And how was is it that you were able to do that? Free...

    Why worry about False Teachers?

Anyone can humble themselves before God. It is not if they can but it is will they. I am sure you know what the word means so your question is rather odd. But I added these in case you were not sure: humble 1] not proud or arrogant; modest. Synonyms: unpretentious Antonyms: proud 2]...

    Born Anew?

I have to ask you again where do you see me saying that God has to be fair? I have said that He is just and even quoted a verse that states that so please get you facts straight Dave. The bible tells us that the world can know God and that the Holy Spirit convicts all and that the light of the...

    Born Anew?

Have you not read in your bible Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, Rom 1:21 because, although they knew God, they did not...

    Born Anew?

Dave you are just showing that you have a selective view. 1. The plan is that all who believe are the elect. That is not what calvinism says Dave. It says that only those that have been pre chosen can believe. You are playing word games Dave and that is not what I would expect from you...

    Born Anew?

First off let me be clear I do not reject the DoG/TULIP on the basis of fairness but rather because they are not biblical. God does not have to be fair but He is just. Rom 3:26 ... that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Calvinism has a select group pre...

    Born Anew?

But we are not speaking of being a Christian fellowship. We are speaking of salvation. The bible teaches that man is responsible for the choices they make. Joh 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the...

    Born Anew?

This is one place that we do part ways Dave. To me the bible is clear as to the order of salvation. We hear, we believe and then we are saved. If we are saved prior to our trust in Christ Jesus that of what need is faith? Molinism is an errant theological view as far as I understand it. It...

    Why worry about False Teachers?

You do not have to be spiritually superior just willing to humble yourself before God.

    Why worry about False Teachers?

And that is why God has provided the various means by which we can know Him. Yes we all sin but that does not take away the ability to hear and reason and make real choices.

    Born Anew?

It is not what I am claiming Dave it is what the DoG/TULIP presents. If one says they hold to DoG/TULIP then it is not whether they loved darkness but that they were not chosen. I as a non-calvinist can say and be biblically correct that anyone that responds in faith to Christ will be saved...

    Born Anew?

I am not so sure that Owen or Muller or any of them understand it at a deeper level but rather at a level that they feel comfortable with. Just as the rest of us do. But for me the bottom line is does what they say align with what the word of God says. I find too may people make the bible out...

    Born Anew?

How Ryle could be considered to be moderate and him still hold to the DoG/TULIP does not seem logical. For one to say they hold to the DoG would make them no less extreme that those that would be called hypercal's. Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, and Irresistible Grace have to be...

    Born Anew?

The only thing I can say for those such as J.C. Ryle, Horatius Bonar and as you say perhaps John Owen is that they were moving away from calvinism and more to what the bible actually said. Calvinism IMO stands on shifting sand. They will latch onto out of context verses that are not clear but...

    Born Anew?

Dave I can agree with what you are saying up to man's free will will always lead to rejection of God. As soon as calvinism says God decrees/determines all things then to me they have gone off the rails and stopped trusting the word of God.
