    New Perspective on Paul revisited

If man is truly trusting in Jesus Christ for his salvation, good works are sure to follow, they can't be stopped because it's a work of the Holy Spirit through Grace by faith. But at the same time we are to heed the warning by Paul that we had be careful how we build on that faith in Jesus...

    New Perspective on Paul revisited

Doing good is believing in Jesus Christ. When the rich young ruler asked Christ what must I do to inherit eternal life, Christ said to keep the commandments. Christ wasn't saying keeping the Law gave him eternal life, it was impossible for him to keep the Law perfectly. Christ was hitting...

    New Perspective on Paul revisited

Those that treasure up the wrath of God on themselves are the lost who refuse to repent. They will reap what they sow in their sins (according to their works). Vs. 7 is referring to the ones trusting in Christ, that is their well doing. That trusting in Christ is what causes the Holy Spirit...

    New Perspective on Paul revisited

Sounds an awful like Catholicism doesn't it?

    New Perspective on Paul revisited

That's the way I see it. Folks that want something to brag about they did to save themselves. Can't be any of that if we want to be with Him for eternity!

    New Perspective on Paul revisited

Someone will bring up James 2:24, but the wrong understanding of James will conflict with Paul on salvation and works. If you are saved you will have works, but they are tested by the fire of God in motivation and reason. Not all of our works will pass the test. Works are based solely on...

    New Perspective on Paul revisited

The bottom line is that the NPP argues there must be works to get you over the finish line. But what did Paul say? Every man's works will be judged by fire and if the fire burns up the works (the works are not accepted/loss of reward) the same will suffer loss but will be saved despite the...

    New Perspective on Paul revisited

I think Paul would have been sending these folks a Nasty-gram as he did the Galatians. Even though the issue for salvation was circumcision added to faith for the Galatians, what difference is it to make good works a requirement for salvation? I must do this or that to be saved in the end? If...

    The "D" Chart

I've learned through the study of Dispensationalism, and I speak for myself only, the Dispensations are easier to understand if we understand what's taking place during these time periods. God's ultimate plan is unfolding through these dispensations of time, His plan of redemption for mankind...

    The "D" Chart

This is clearly a pre-trib. rapture and exactly the way I see it. It leaves the obvious question of how long the dispensation of the Church will last, which will determine when the Great Tribulation begins. The Scripture doesn't tell us the time period (days, weeks, months) between the...

    Born Anew?

Well I pray you do know which way to go. It's a very serious accusation against God to say that He chooses some for Himself and leaves the rest on their own to perish in Hell. I think we all need to think that over very carefully.

    Born Anew?

It seems you're standing on the fence, Dave. Not sure which way to go. That's what I gather from reading your posts.

    Born Anew?

I believe the great apostle Paul wrote the book of Hebrews. Notice he didn't say "if you hear His voice" as in God's choice. Paul said "if you WILL hear His voice" as in man's choice.

    Born Anew?

I don't want to get started on this private interpretation that only the Calvinists use. Not trying the be rude, just to the point.

    Born Anew?

Outside of Calvinism we know how He gives that saving knowledge to man. "Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts...."

    Born Anew?

How does God decide who He will afford that knowledge and who He will not? My Bible says that the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men.

Your favorite aspect of Jesus, aside from dying for your sins?

The fact that He could love someone like me enough to make me a joint heir of all that He has. And ours minds can't even imagine what He has prepared for us.

Would you invite this Evangelist to preach a revival at your church?

Who could argue with this 8 year old's preaching...

Would you invite this Evangelist to preach a revival at your church?

And this girl could be from the same stock, maybe. The proof is in the preaching, is she preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ that Dr. Bob Jones preached? If not, then Satan is presenting himself as an angel of light through her.

Would you invite this Evangelist to preach a revival at your church?

Maybe we have a different definition of "Satan presenting himself as an angel of light." Satan works through people unaware of his presence for the purpose of keeping the Gospel hidden that man might be saved. They are not Satan as this girl could not be Satan, but possibly used by Satan...
