How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

I use the 1611 Authorized KJV that was revised in 1769. The reason it's still called the 1611 Authorized KJV is plain to read online. The revision did not effect the communicated Word of the 1611, it addressed updated spelling, punctuation and minor words that were outdated. If there had...

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

I don't have any proof and neither do the KJVO folks. What they have is a time, a place, and a need for the inspiration of His communicated truth to man.

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Ok, I'll take your word it was impossible for God to inspire the Authorized 1611 KJV at that critical time in history.

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Was it possible for God to inspire a group of translators to communicate the truth of His Word to us very shortly after the Reformers put us on the right track from Catholicism? Of course I'm speaking of the Authorized KJV.

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Yea, I guess you were. We don't have a word for word translation from any of the authors of the Bible. What we have is a faithful, trusting and inspired communication of the truth. If we mess around with the wording we have, well then we no longer have a communication of the truth.

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Would you consider the words of Christ in the Gospel to be word for word from the authors or thought for thought or paraphrase?

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

I've never seen this comparison before. Anytime I read the Scripture, any of it, I'm reading to understand what's being said. What's important to me is how the words are arranged and what is the correct interpretation of what's being said. I've never used anything but the KJV so I'm fixed on a...

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

When you read the Gospels you are reading different phrases of what Christ said from each author, and for different reasons. Some scholars say they can compare manuscripts and come very close to the exact words of Christ. It's not the word for word of the Scripture that's inspired, it's the...

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

I'm not arguing this, just giving you some points on the matter. None of us were there and we don't know what actually happened or if they even knew what was happening, if the KJVO points are true.

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

No one can prove anything that the KJV is inspired but they have good reason to believe it was, based on what I've already stated and several other points. Neither can you prove it's not. So we have a difference of opinion as we have in many areas of the Bible.

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Noah was a drunkard, David was a murderer, Jacob was a compulsive liar. What does the Scripture say about them?

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Scripture is given by God and inspired and profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and for instruction in righteousness. I'm sorry you don't believe that is what we have.

    Repeating themes in Revelation

Everything in Revelation is future at the point of the Church Age coming to a close in Chapter 3, immediately following is the Rapture in Chapter 4. Revelation from this point is the wrath of God falling on earth, through Chapter 19. Satan is cast out of heaven to this earth with all his...

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Those crazy KJVO folks also believe at the beginning of the 5th dispensation in history that began the Reformation Church, God knowing the English language would prevail in this world, He gave the inspiration and will to King James at that time to give us His inspired Word to take to the world...

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Yea, they have this crazy notion that God inspired King James to organize certain translators that God would anoint and inspire their work for an English speaking people. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

Maybe God gave it to us so we could find what's wrong with it and make the corrections.

How to Improve Our English Translations of Scripture

So we can't trust it to be the absolute Word of God? What's the purpose in having a Bible if we can't trust it?
