“The prodigal son and the unjust Steward”

It represents the reader's dedication to the text, even though it may seem ridiculous.

“The prodigal son and the unjust Steward”

My avatar is from a public domain photo of Michelangelo's Moses. The Vulgate was the approved translation, and Jerome translated rays (shone) as horns, which is how the Heb can be translated in other places. It's the photo on the cover of my copy of Gleason Archer's Survey of Old Testament...

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

Here we go again. Okay you win. I don't feel the need to get banned again defending myself from your false accusations.
  4. Aaron

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

LOL. Like I said, you don't get to dictate verbatims. What you describe about Christ is a martyr's death. Your pedantry is your smokescreen.

Christ crucified on a Cross was a legal work according to God's law

I mean, what is the point you're wanting to make?
  6. Aaron

Christ crucified on a Cross was a legal work according to God's law

We've been around and around on that already. You know what I think, and I know what you think. God foreknew individuals, you say He foreknew a plan. So how does that relate to the OP?
  7. Aaron

Christ crucified on a Cross was a legal work according to God's law

LOL. I'll answer my question. The Promise came first. The law was added and served as a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. The law isn't the mission of Christ, it is the blueprint, the model of His mission (Heb. 8:5).
  8. Aaron

Christ crucified on a Cross was a legal work according to God's law

Let me rephrase... Which came first, the Promise of a Redeemer or Moses?
  9. Aaron

“The prodigal son and the unjust Steward”

The article is a mishmash of Dispensational and Jewish antichrist claptrap.
  10. Aaron

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

Never mind this. I misread your adjective phrase.
  11. Aaron

Christ crucified on a Cross was a legal work according to God's law

Which came first, the Promise of Redemption or the law?
  12. Aaron

Christ crucified on a Cross was a legal work according to God's law

You need to see the law as a reflection of Christ's eternal mission, not the source or the governor of it.
  13. Aaron

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

A sinner can be 'unjustly' oppressed? You say Jesus died a martyr. No martyr is a sacrifice for sin. Jesus didn't die a martyr. He died a sacrifice for sin.
  14. Aaron

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

We'll try this again. Try to follow: Jesus was made a curse for us. What curse? The curse of the law. What is the curse of the law? Galatians 3:10 - Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. What is the transgression of the...
  15. Aaron

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

I did. We don't get to dictate the verbatims. We have to accept these things the way God said them. Why the cross? Why not the sword? Why not a sickness? Or a falling tower in Siloam?
  16. Aaron

What God did on Earth's first fourth day.

...as are you, with the added offense of reading into the narrative a host of imaginations.
  17. Aaron

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

Yes, Jon, we all know what you want it to say, but the text just won't yield.
  18. Aaron

Christ crucified on a Cross was a legal work according to God's law

You're definitely on the right track. But to be more accurate, the law of Moses foreshadowed the Cross. Hebrews 3:5 NLT - Moses was certainly faithful in God's house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later. Hebrews 9:8-9 NLT - By these regulations the...

Did Jesus cease being God's Son on the Cross?

Exception to what? Paul is explicitly applying that very sentence to the death Christ suffered. I think his interpretation is to trusted more than yours.
