Actually, Im reading out of the verse what's in it. Purged sin away is removal of guilt and penalty of sin. His death legally accomplished that for them He died.

The death of Christ saved them He died for from the penalty and guilt of their sin. Heb 1:3

Blasphemy, the ones Christ died for their sins were purged away when he died Hebrews 1:3, they are saved from the guilt and penalty of their sin at the cross
