    Dietary Laws

GentleGospeller: You are correct...no matter if Paul read it to them, or they read it themselves, the message was delivered. STILL, you choose to ignore my question, stated again, below. If you are unable to answer, then own up to it and say so.

    Dietary Laws

If I "deliver a speech", it means I read a speech to a group of people, so what I see is that Paul and Silas read the epistle to them, and after they read it the people rejoiced for the consolation. That said, the context given in Acts 15:31 does make me consider that your understanding may be...

Does it Matter at all what the Age of the Earth is?

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. I can not disagree with plain speaking Scripture, even if I will always struggle with it.

    Dietary Laws

American slang is often difficult for non-Americans to grasp, as sometimes the phrase can mean something good, and sometimes not so good...often depending on which side of the Mason-Dixon you are on. As Jon mentioned, it not only changes from region to region, but even within individual...

Yes, I would like you to explain those details. See post #56. I'm still waiting for your reply.

    Dietary Laws

Here, Judas and Silas are reading the letter to the Church at Antioch. Acts 15:29-31 29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. 30 Which when they had...

    DNA OF JESUS PART II

This I agree with, as Jesus grew in Mary's womb for nine months. Unless Jesus did not have a belly button (aka: umbilical cord), He drew all of His sustenance from Mary during that time.

    2026 World Series

Other than the Mariners (currently 62-68) I don't follow baseball much. Is there something I missed that could cause the MLB to collapse?

    Dietary Laws

While I was in Israel back in 1999, the friend I was visiting (an IFB missionary and his family) told me that both an Imam and a Rabbi can be present and observing when a cow is butchered, and then it is considered as both halal and kosher. He said the butchering requirements were very much...

    Monastery engage and fellowship

I am not in your position, of course, but I would explain to them that the Lord, Jesus Christ died for our transgressions, and rose again and now reigns in Heaven. If you have a bible in their language, I would show them the text...This is God's first law to His children. Exodus 20:1-5 1 And...

    Monastery engage and fellowship

I might be friendly with the Buddhist monks, but no, I would certainly not engage with them while they are making offerings to false gods and idols.

    Dietary Laws

No, they are not still in force. Paul and Barnabas were in Antioch, and some men came there from Judea, and were telling the Gentiles that they also must be circumcised in order to be saved. Paul and Barnabas had some rather heated discussions with them about this, and it was decided that...

    Dietary Laws

In my 67+ years I have traveled extensively throughout 47 of the 50 US states, plus trips to Germany, Israel, Mexico and Canada. Can't say I've ever come across a "pagan orgy BBQ"...but if I do, I'll be sure to give it a wide berth.

Could you expand on this thought?

Changing the name of a stree

Strangest road name I've ever seen is an exit off of I-15 near Baker, Calif. It's in the middle of nowhere, and basically goes nowhere. The road is named "Zzyzx"...pronounced as Ziz-zix. No idea how it got that name, but I would have to guess that alcohol was involved.

Changing the name of a stree

From the article: “Street names are more than just labels,” Hernandez said. “They shape how people experience and feel about where they live.” Wow....talk about "woke" culture. Somebody needs to get a life. Some 60 years back I lived on a street named "Teranimar". The person who owned all the...

    Granddaughter needs prayer

Deacon, I am sad to hear of your families loss of Kylie. No doubt she fought a great fight; now there is no more pain for her to bear. My prayers continue for you and your family.

Does it Matter at all what the Age of the Earth is?

Ben, please forgive me if I implied certain belief in any of those thoughts. While you do not, I struggle with this, as do many others I am sure. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
