This I agree with.

Halloween is pretty much a non-event in my neighborhood. We are rural, and our small neighborhood does contain some whose moral values are rather poor, and many have rather aggressive dogs (mostly pits). The neighborhood is also poorly lit, and parents who let their kids celebrate the day...

Okey dokey Sparky. You win. BTW, at least I can spell "their".

Yes, I do. You have determined that you are both the judge and jury...not just for music, but also preaching styles and bible versions. If it doesn't fit your desired model, it is anathema, and your heart is filled with the bitterness of your choices. Matthew 24. 26 Thou blind Pharisee...

Let me make sure I understand this.... The KJV is "watered down", and verse 9 (quoted verbatim) says something other than what it actually says. You are both presumptuous and arrogant..... I haven't been called "son" in over 60 years. Again, you completely missed the point. Singing praises to...

1 Chronicles 16..8-10 8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. 9 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works. 10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Can't speak for others, but...

Thank you all for the recommendations. It is much appreciated. After reading up on the suggestions, I am going to go with Christian Theology, 3rd ed., as you have recommended. If you use it in teaching a course, then it's certainly sufficient for my needs.

The worst part about being named "Michael", came when I was in the 2nd grade. I attended a Catholic school, and my 2nd grade teacher was a nun, fresh off the boat from Italy. She spoke English, but with that strong Italian accent. There were six Michaels in the class..yep, 6, so she had to...

1959...most popular was Michael. Yep, that's me. Guess my parents weren't feeling too creative..

Now that I have time available, I am wanting to further my education into God's word. Some 35 years back I attended a few classes at an IFB (local church) college, but was unable to continue as life got in the way. I would like to begin with a course on Systematic Theology, and this is an...

Back in 1999 I took a two week trip to northern Israel to visit a friend and IFB missionary that led me to the Lord. It is a very difficult field, in that proselytizing was legally questionable, at best, and very much looked looked down upon by the Orthodox Jewish community. Had an afternoon...

No disrespect intended brother, but that is a very generalizing statement. How most of those people grew up was having their faith forced upon them as children, and they had no choice in the matter. Coerced by fear and repression, and if they didn't "walk the walk" they were in deep trouble...

Baptists aren't divisive...they just like to argue. ;)

AMEN!!

I believe a psychiatrist should start with lengthy conversation/counseling, and if the psychiatrist feels medication is necessary based on the conversation, then the counseling should continue so the psychiatrist can evaluate the patient to see if the proscribed medication is having the...

You've asked two questions there, and the best answers I can provide you are...Yes and Yes. 2 Timothy 3:16 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: As I read this verse I understand it to say...

I would not consider that as a sin at all, although we could use a bit more definition of the "structure and style". Are you referencing the style of the KJV? What is it you are wanting to write...or this just, in general? A writers style is typically somewhat unique to that individual..who...

You were born on Feb. 29th.

I am indeed a Baptist. Thank you Brother Gross.

I would suspect that IF Germany had not surrendered in May, the country may very well have soon been a recipient of a package from the Manhattan Project in August. One does have to wonder, if that had been the case, if the US would have needed a 1st or 2nd bomb on Japan.
