    Preserved Text Only

Logos, I will certainly give you credit for being tenacious. Like a pit bull, you've sunk your teeth into your mission and are going to shake it until it gives up, dies, or runs away. If you were a prosecutor in a court of law, I have no doubt that the judge would censor you for badgering the...

    Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew

What a strange world we live in today. I can imagine Meryl Streep was quite chuffed with herself after being selected to be the voice of the animated animal character depicting Jesus. It seems evident that moral and social boundaries no longer still exist for what is generally acceptable.

    Mars opinion.

I would agree. Sending a manned mission to Mars and bringing them back again are two different things. We get great pictures and data from the robotic missions we have landed there, but to send a manned mission without allowing them to land on Mars would not be something most astronauts...

Welcome to the site. Kermit, did you note that this thread has not been active for over 18 years?

    Has English Degraded?

There has been no tergiversation on my part, and if you wish, you can re-read my previous posts to confirm that. I have not stated any opinion of modern English, nor have I made any exclusive only claims for the KJV.

    Has English Degraded?

I follow the Lord Jesus Christ, therefore I could care less what Gail Riplinger (or anyone else) proposed, claimed, acknowledged, maintained, asserted, indicated, alleged or wrote regarding their opinion of the KJV. They do not speak for me, so please, save yourself the effort of posting all...

    What Baptism?

Patience. They may not join your church until properly baptised, however baptism will be on their conscience at every service. As they grow as a Christian, they will come to understand their need to follow the Lord in baptism.

    Has English Degraded?

One thing I enjoyed greatly while traveling the country were the unique accents, words and phrases in the various regions and states. We should also consider that there is UK English, American English and Australian English, with some words and phrases having completely opposing meanings...

    Has English Degraded?

When I read or study my bible, I do not want it to read like a Tom Clancy novel, as I am reading THE Word of God..it should be different, if not unique. It is a special, supernatural book gifted and given to mankind by inspiration of God Himself. Every person who has studied and learned...

    What Baptism?

As mine did for me. In truth, I remember the moment of my baptism just as much as the moment I was saved, and that was 28+ years ago. I agree with you, as I believe a new believer's baptism should not take place until they have been taught/learned about what baptism truly means.

    Has English Degraded?

    Nope. Not one bit.

    What Baptism?

Dealing with persecution and rejection (they come as a set) is a given for Biblical Christians. Baptism is an act of obedience, and generally required for church membership, but not required (as far as I know) for a souls salvation. That said, I don't believe it would be a good way to begin an...

    Has English Degraded?

I have a question: Does a standardized modern English language exist today?

    What Baptism?

Why would anyone considering themselves a Christian, especially a new Christian, refuse to be baptised in water? Are they refusing baptism, or water?

Our Scriptural Confidence is that We have a Pure, More Sure Word of Prophecy.

Truth does indeed matter, and I believe I have the truth in the KJV. You disagree. In one of my earlier posts to the board I asked about "modern versions" for new Christians, and got a variety or responses and recommendations, one of which was to give them a KJV. After thought and prayer, I...

Two amazing examples of engineering....so far out there, and still talking to home some 49 years later.

As Christian believers we know we are Heaven bound.

Amen! While not in a rush, I too very much look forward to that time..

Our Scriptural Confidence is that We have a Pure, More Sure Word of Prophecy.

Logos, I'd like to share a few thoughts. I love the KJV for many reasons, one being I trust that the TR and Masoretic text are indeed the preserved Words of God, and believe it to be the most accurate of any translation available today. Do I believe the 47 men who did the KJV translation were...

Our Scriptural Confidence is that We have a Pure, More Sure Word of Prophecy.

Having followed these discussions, aside from the endless quotes from KJV-only authors you have failed to prove much of anything, and yet here you claim some type of "victory", and appear to be quite proud of yourself. I have yet to find a modern English translation that I am satisfied with...

Our Scriptural Confidence is that We have a Pure, More Sure Word of Prophecy.

And you disagree with that sound, logical statement?
