...and president obama is saying the way to beat ISIS is to tell them they aren't strong, they're weak?

What with the whining about people defending themselves, or the advice given to arm themselves? And this 'if you act scared you invite trouble' worldly philosophy being espoused on a Christian board?

There are many persons who have armed themselves and have been assaulted in some way and have defended themselves or their families. Successfully. But being prepared is being ridiculed and mocked. Must be the liberal/democrat indoctrination causing such foolish antics to surface. Yes, the liberals must be proud, they have a bumper crop harvest of followers they've planted and cultivated to promote their idiocy.

Interesting that an attack on a gay bar is immediately suspected as being "Islamic terror" whilst other shootings and attacks (San Bernardino, for example) takes days to determine.

Sent from my Motorola Droid Turbo.

Thats because it was motivated by Islamic terrorists as ISIS has claimed responsibility. Please watch the news.

Evil leads to evil. It is unfortunate that this is the climate in which our nation finds itself, but it is IMHO a climate fairly earned. What is most unfortunate is that people, to include Christians, will not only view this tragedy through a political lens but will try to turn it into a political issue.

And there is nothing Wrong with Rolfe's avatar. ;)

Edited for clarity - this was the avatar:

Just realized that Evan's comment about my avatar may be related to a post (about people complaining about previous avatars) that I made a week or two ago. I suspect that it is a joke, but it would be nice of Evan to clarify.

One thing about the Florida attack that's been pointed out is that the terrorist was a US citizen.

Syed Farook, who carried out the San Bernadino killing spree was a citizen.

Nidal Hasan, the Islamic Ft Hood killer was a US citizen.

ISIS brings in more recruits from the UK than any other country in Europe.

The point is that once you have a large pool of 2nd generation Muslims in any country, it is relatively easy for Imams or others to radicalize at least some of them.

Oh, but they have by suggesting that more "law-abiding" folk get weapons.
Uh, no, that is not "an eye for an eye." That is the defense of self and others.

But that is a scare tactic used by the insecure.
Really? So you think Jesus was using scare tactics when he told the disciples to sell their coat and buy a sword?

How often have you have to defend your loved ones?
In the past 50 years not more than 10 or 12 times. But when it was necessary I am glad I had the ability to do so.

Do you carry car insurance? Are you afraid of an accident?

Do you carry health insurance? Are you afraid of getting sick?

Do you carry life insurance? Are you afraid of dying? :)

Yes or No: If firearms were kept completely out of the hands of the people, would crimes like this not happen?
Yes, it would still happen, human nature being what it is.

Yes or No: If muslims were kept completely out of this country, would crimes like this not happen?
They would still happen, human nature being what it is. :(

These people who are advocating about getting rid of guns do not care about people. They have no concern about who does and who doesn't die. They only care about one thing, which is setting up this country to allow our government to have absolute control over our lives. If we lose guns then the government can be as tyrannical as it wants. And for some reason gun control advocates care about that. Not people.

(Evan disagreed)
Sorry to trouble you for an explanation, Evan, but are you disagreeing with my comment that it is wrong to turn such a tragic event into a political pawn or that there is nothing wrong with using the Swedish Chef from the muppets as an avatar?

If the former, then shame on you. People are dead, injured, and hurting. If the latter....well, that's just silly (unless you are joking...then sorry I didn't "get it").

Yeah...if you look at the time stamp of my post you will see that I was posting as the news story was just breaking. At that moment, facts were sketchy.

Also, just because ISIS claims responsibility does not necessarily mean they were involved.
