I have a FB "Friend" who stated:
"My guess is sometime in the next year he (Trump) creates some "emergency" to suspend
the 28 elections or gets congress to approve him running a third time."

What say you?

22nd Amendment:

“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once,”

So could someone run for POTUS and Trump run as Veep after 20 Jan - the new President resign and Trump takes over?
Theoretically, that could happen - but if Trump ran as Veep.....

BUT the OP is will Trump suspend the 28 elections?

I don’t believe our Constitution allows for elections to be suspended.

The VP has to be eligible to serve as President.

absolutely correct - But as you pointed out "“No person shall be elected to the office of the President" and in this
situation - Trump would not be running for POUTS, rather Veep. Some would say that is a loophole, but legal!

Remember George Wallace - when he was termed out - he had his wife run. She won and he became a "Special assit" to the Governer.

SCOTUS would obviously say that the last clause applies no matter the order of occurrence.

but under the situation I gave - Trump would only have been elected twice - NOT three times!
As I stated - it is a loophole - but one within the law!
