In the post Christian era, how can any person rely upon the claims of people. Those committed to Christ strive to tell the truth, considering others as more important than themselves, but our post Christian culture features "professing Christians" posting obvious fallacies right and left. From my side of the street, I do not claim to know whether 400,000 Americans have died because of Covid and not because of a pre-existing condition making them vulnerable to Covid. And I do not know why after more than a month, my Doctor cannot yet make an appointment for me to get vaccinated in California when my younger brother in law in Tennessee has his appointment!

What evidence do you have to doubt the figures. There is no doubt that many thousands have died from this dangerous illness and must be taken more seriously

Scripture says we should "test the spirits" meaning to verify what is said. Those that are judgmental and accept what matches their presuppositions and reject differing view, are crippling themselves.

Someone who died with a pre-existing condition making them vulnerable to Covid19, died of Covid19. If they did not catch covid19, they would have died later and might be alive today.

It is very sad that so many Christians in the US and the world have been duped into believing so many obvious fallacies with no evidence just because of which “team” information comes from.

How about the folks with Covid that died of the underlying condition. Why was their death not said to be caused by the actual root cause?

Your response trying to dismiss politically inconvenient deaths is very predictable and morally questionable which is why I preemptively posted the excess deaths report.

If those deaths were of other “natural causes” other than covid why is the number of deaths in the US 300,000 higher than expected for the period of Jan to October? It will likely be around 500,000 or more higher once the numbers are in for Jan to Jan.

What would make more sense? 300,000 Americans more than usual just died for no reason or they died of Covid?

The problem with calling all those deaths as only caused by the China virus is giving a incomplete stats.

For example - in Traffic collision - 40% caused by booze, 30% by cell phones, 35% at intersections, 15% due to medical (ie heart attack) 5% by vehicle preformace, 1% by fire, - = 126% --- Now, these stats are used for training to make better equiped drives - so suppose we say that since it is over 100% we just wont worry about deaths caused at intersections - that would be insane.
IMHO - if it is even close to the Chinese virus - then only use that as the cause of death, so that we can make our case stronger. I say look at the over all picture.

One other thing - we have been told that most of the CV deaths are those who are much older, have conditions such as heart problems, ect.
Well - lately the local TV has been airing a promo stating that Blacks have a higer % of deaths that whites. - So that means that a white person - with no heart disease of a certian gender - under the age of 50 will have a very low risk of the CD.

Note: my stats for the auto Collisions are just somewhat guessmations

The overall picture is that after you account for all the car accidents, heart attacks, strokes that usually kill Americans every year, there had been 300,000 excess deaths in top of that between Jan and October 2020.

What evidence you have to explain that? Not some theoretical one or two cases that may have been misattributed. Why are you looking for alternative mysterious causes of death when there is one staring at you in the face that is causing deaths everywhere in the world and has been laboratory confirmed in those people?

Yes. Those with Cardiac, respiratory and other diseases are more susceptible to serious covid including death from covid. This is true of influenza and all respiratory infections and we’ve known this about covid19 since Jan 2020 when the data was first coming out.

Blacks in the US have a higher percentage of chronic heart disease, respiratory disease and diabetes compared to the white population, largely from health care access issues.

Young folks without medical conditions have much lower chance of serious covid or death but have just as much a chance of catching and spreading covid as everyone else. And they still have a risk of serious covid and death. When you are talking about millions of people infected, a very small percentage of millions of people is still a large number. Preventing covid is not just about yourself but also your friends and family who may not be as healthy and young.

1) Covid deaths are politically inconvenient to the appease China crowd.

2) Your claims may have been found on the internet, but may not reflect reality.

3) What would make sense is our deaths increased due to Covid. But the numbers may be exaggerated for political purpose.

Maybe you are correct. Let’s weigh the evidence available to us.

On the one hand you have CDC data, state data, hospital data, laboratory data, personal accounts, independent organizational data.

On your side we have your suppositions, claims you found on the internet from Twitter or right wing conspiracy “news” sites describing one or two cases with no evidence. Am I missing any pieces of evidence?

The reason it is not 400,000 is because they are counting everyone who died and has Covid rather than just people who are dying because of Covid.

Evidence rather than just your suppositions.

Here are the CDC guidelines for death certificates and covid19.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvss/vsrg/vsrg03-508.pdf

Cause-of-Death Reporting
When reporting cause of death on a death certificate, use any information available, such as medical history, medical records, laboratory tests, an autopsy report, or other sources of relevant information. Similar to many other diagnoses, a cause-of-death statement is an informed medical opinion that should be based on sound medical judgment drawn from clinical training and experience, as well as knowledge of current disease states and local trends (6).

Part I
This section on the death certificate is for reporting the sequence of conditions that led directly to death. The immediate cause of death, which is the disease or condition that directly preceded death and is not necessarily the underlying cause of death (UCOD), should be reported on line a. The conditions that led to the immediate cause of death should be reported in a logical sequence in terms of time and etiology below it.

The UCOD, which is “(a) the disease or injury which initiated the train of morbid events leading directly to death or (b) the circumstances of the accident or violence which produced the fatal injury” (7), should be reported on the lowest line used in Part I.

Death certificates are legal documents signed by individual doctors based on clinical judgements to the best of their ability. They can be sued or lose their license if they lie on it. At the minimum there can be a prolonged investigation.

The excess deaths data and the lack of testing availability in the US would indicate that the 400,000 is a significant undercount of the deaths.
