My mother and stepfather just tested positive for COVID and are checking in at an ER at this very moment.

Even Trump zealots I know are confronting this reality since the pandemic did not “end the day after the election” and they see the deaths continue.

Wake up.

I don’t know where you are getting your figures, but I do know you are confusing the mortality rate with the recovery rate.

A person who truly “recovers” won’t have long-lasting damage to their body — usually the lungs, heart and/or brain. About 1/3 of people who survive COVID have long-term damage.

Regarding the mortality rate (with treatment) for my mother (age 85), all things being equal, has a mortality rate of 15%.

My stepfather, who is 93, faces a much higher mortality rate, especially since he believes everything he has heard from Fox News and memes in the internet and refuses to take the medicine he was prescribed. He very likely may lose his life.

People tout the overall numbers but intentionally refuse to look at or even talk about the recovery rate. Looks pretty slimey.

If Biden ever politicizes wearing masks, dismisses the warnings of medical experts, and diminishes the risk of COVID-19, we should all blame Biden — just like we should have held the former President accountable for his lies, when he told the public not to worry and that COVID-19 was about to go away, yet told Bob Woodward something else in private that was absolutely true and represented the latest understanding of medical experts.

Trump is not responsible for all of the deaths, but he is responsible for a significant number of them, as well as the nonsense being promoted in this thread that continue to get people killed.

There are no definitive numbers yet but this site for infectious disease clinicians cites 8 studies of long term symptoms. >50% of respondents to all these studies reported persisting symptoms at the time of the study (somewhere between 1-6 months after their positive covid test), albeit most of the symptoms were mild. There are young previously healthy patients in all of these studies.

Woooh wait! I have given no evidence of confusing anything. The recovery rate places the mortality rate in proper context. Sorry but that is not propaganda its just fact. The only propaganda is that which uses covid to add more government control over peoples lives against their will and rob Americans the freedom this country was established on.
