And that "slavery" includes the govt taxes which makes me a slave
Oh, if, and thats a big if, inter-racial marriage was outlawed, that would not necessary prohibit someone from voting.
In addition, I would like to have seen the gender racial, age and religious breakdown of those polled.
I believe a minister should have the right to refuse to marry an inter-racial or any inter-whatever couple that he deems inappropriate.
Free at last, he said no such thing. After you re-read his post, you need to apologize. You are usually better than that.
Go2church, it is obvious you did not read anything you've been told. I've grown to expect that, from you.
Yes, I understand that the it's a broad stroke with which I am painting, but it still holds up, the North was right and the South was wrong. It's not really very complicated at all, check a box
[ ] All for the expansion and continued use of owning people
[ ] All for ending this owning people practice and not allowing it to grow
But the core issue remains, opposing interracial marriage, trying to outlaw it is wrong. Now if 46% of Mississippi of Republicans is too high, that's fine I can accept that no problem. But if it is only 1% it is still something that freedom loving, independent minded folks should not tolerate.
Racism from either side of the aisle, and don't think for a minute it doesn't exist on the left, is wrong and should we should not be creating laws that will further this awful condition of humanity.
I agree with him. A pastor has the right to refuse to marry. He never said the inter-racial deal would be an issue. If the pastor deems it inappropriate, he has the right to refuse. Pastors shouldn't be forced to perform marriages they are against, for any reason.
I am just sure someone will twist that, as well. Easier to cry "racist" and question salvation than actually try to understand what is being said.
If believing scripture is prejudice then believe what you want. I will stand on the scripture I gave and you can just stand on belief. And I believe you can't read, and can only view folks through the prism of your own prejudice.

Yes Scripture IS prejudice - it teaches that a Christian should NOT marry a non-Christian!
Do you think a 70 year old man should marry a 20 year old - if not that is prejudice
Do you think a Ind Funn Bap should marry a Pentecostal - if not that is prejudice
Do you think a woman with a Doctors degree should marry a ditch-digger* - if not that is prejudice
Do you think an anti-war activist should marry a solider ? If not that is prejudice
Do you think a penny-pincher should marry a "Live-as-you-wish-via-credit-card regardless of the costs" If not that is prejudice
Do you think a person who demands a pre-nup should marry a person who has nothing. If not that is prejudice
This list could go on and on.....
* no offense to the ditch digger:smilewinkgrin:
