Such use was gradually replaced by "cherub" and "cherubs" from the 17th century and by the 19th century had become standard. In fact, in English "cherubim" is a verb meaning "to sing like a cherub."

Thankyou for that.
Yes,Cherubims is from the Hebrew,after all we are translating from it.
There is nothing wrong with what they have done here.

I hereby challenge the KJOist to find in any single “modern version” even 1% of the number of errors that we can find in the Cambridge edition of 1769.

Actually it is not a mistake at all.
Plus there are several times that the AV will capitalize the first occurance of a certain word and then revert back to the accepted reading and spelling.Good effort though.

Just 1%?Come on now.Try much higher than that.
1% of 64,or 100 some odd?That means all I would have to do is find just 1 or two to do the job.
Plus those "supposed errors are not errors.

Try this tiny list;
--------------------
HARD ERRORS in the MV'S

Mark 5:1 Luke 8:26 8:37 - Gadarenes vs Gerasenses/Gerasa, the pig marathon

Matthew 1:7 - Asa vs Asaphe (wrong person)
