Yes I know what ESTIMATES are I've hunted deer with bow and arrow, I've taken many an award for shooting bows in competition where you have to judge yardage extremly well to even hit the target out to range of 45 yards which anyone that hunts with a bow will tell you is a long way to stick an arrow into a target.

The same goes for shotguns and rifles. If you can't judge range very closely and accurately you shouldn't be using dangerous tools like arrows or guns.

Neither Cheney or Armstrong made an error in range estimation. They lied. And the evidence shows it. IMHO.

That's right Brother James.

At thirty yards I estimated a shot spread of six feet, Alex Jones (see video in the other thread) using a 28 gauge shotgun with #7 1/2 birdshot got a shot spread of seven and a half feet. There is no way that little gun is going to cause the type of damage it did even to an 80 year old man at thirty yards. That's just the facts.

I don't know about you Rocko9 but I'm not suspicious of people so much as I am suspicious of people in government. Especially when they've been caught in a lie and a needless one at that! ;)

[IMG] [IMG] You got that right Poncho.
They say it never hurts to tell the truth but in Dick Cheneys case it might hurt, it might hurt a lot.

</font>
Yeah I guess maybe. And another thing I don't appreciate the VP giving the antigunners in the "liberal press" more ammo to use against us law abiding gun owners in their efforts to take our guns away.

And that's the crux. He admits to drinking, he's most likely on a heart medication, and him & the millionare good-ole' boys have seriously hurt those who hunt responsibly. Never mind he didn't have the proper liscensing to be hunting in the first place.

I am VERY angry at Cheney.

Well, I guess there are some benefits to being above the law. If that were you or I Bro Curtis we'd most likely still be waiting for our phone call to contact a lawyer...that is if we "citizens" still have a right to a lawyer under the Patriot Act(s).

We sure would have our hunting priveleges scrutinized by "those in the know".

Yep. This incident stinks.

I just saw the photo of Mr. Whittington. That's some bruise he's got from a little popgun full of birdseed from thirty yards away. Glad to see he's up and walking around though.

Blah, blah, blah!

Harry Whittington, the man who was accidentally shot by Vice President Dick Cheney, makes infinitely more sense than the entire army of news media its following who seem consumed with making something more out of this incident than it was.

</font>
I read the report LE but it is basically just taking statements from those who were there at the scene
The case is closed and will not proceed any further.
If this was a situation that happened to any other citizen of the United States there might have been a more detailed investigation because of the improbability of the pattern of shotgun blast from 30 yards.
The good news is that Harry Whittington is out of danger and is as healthy as a horse.

He drank one beer a couple of hours in advance of hunting. He bought the $125 license, but didn't know he needed a $7 license as well. I don't think either one of those mistakes calls for extreme anger.

Corpus Christi is not a small town. I grew up about thirty miles from there. [IMG]

Corpus Christi has about 280,000 residents.
