    Officially no-
But there are several schools that are in "fellowship" with different IFB groups.
In addition, many IFB have started their own (small) Bible colleges - often non-accredited. And many IFB will not use a mission board - they just send the missionary out from the church.

    Probably NOT!
Granted, I was not there at the time - but the GARBC and Baptist Bible Seminary (now Clarks Summit U) started the same year.

I am guessing that a number of men from the New GARBC - in the NY/PA area wanted a bible college in NY. First Bap of Johnson City offered their building as the home of BBS. Within a few years BBS started buying other property for additional uses.

So, IMHO - no - BBS was NOT proposed to be a ministry of only FBC-JC

Later (not sure of what year) BBS became recognized as a GARBC approved school

    1. Considering the Brother I'm accused of being "rude" to and I already ironed this out, and considering the person making that accusation didn't know his nose from his thumb....I think I can determine who is wrong. Also, coming into a conversation two months afterward didn't help....Isn't that sticking his nose into something that didn't concern him as the Bible says is something "unwise?"
    2. Now, that being said, could I be wrong? Definitely. Am I? I doubt it.

If I am saved by the grace of God, I hope I act like it is a reality in my life.

Might I ask...what did that have to do with the price of eggs in China? That question being asked, I would hope we all do...

I would hope we all do, also. As for posting "late" on this thread, I have had a time figuring out this forum, and I posted on it the day I found it. If I find another one that I find interesting, even if it's six months or six years old, I expect I will comment on it. Isn't that the purpose of the forum? For people to comment?

I'm not questioning your timing...I'm questioning your motives of posting after this hadn't been responded to for so long by the poster I'm accused of maligning. I did bring forth my experiences with other IFB preachers...but, behind the scenes, I did go to the brother to try and clear this issue up. It was taken care of. At any rate, I'll count it all as "no harm, no foul."
Hope you had a great weekend and a worshipful Lord's day. Peace to you. .

    Thank you.

Yet I already told you--I posted on it when I found it. I am not privy to what goes on behind the scenes, but I'm glad you and the brother are ok with each other.

Are you telling me it's forbidden to post on a thread unless you find it and post on it within an (as yet unspecified) time frame, such as a certain number of days, e.g.?

Just asking, so I can know if that's truly your belief. My belief is all threads are open to post on, even if they are years old, until Salty closes the thread and it can't be posted on.

Actually, anyone on the admin team can close a thread.
I try to close a thread after 130 posts -that is over 7 pages.
then normally anyone can start a new thread on the same subject.

There was one person on the admin team that would close a thread if there had been no action on a thread for over a year. (referred to as a zombie thread) I am not worried about that for the most part. though if a person starts a thread - then gets banned - we will usually close the thread as the OP can not respond.

Please, don't be obtuse...I've never stated someone couldn't post on any thread. I did, however question the timing and your lack of knowledge of what had transpired...but, then again, you couldn't have known, especially since it was through private communication.
Yes, Salty does close threads...that's his privilege. :)

I believe it was Squire who initiated the 130 post (general ) rule. the main reason, is that if someone does not get involved in the thread for a while - say after 70 or 80 posts - that is a lot to go thru. Normally, if someone starts a new thread (from a closed one) I recommend that the old thread be linked in the new OP. Also, I normally give a six hour warning - so there is plenty of time to make final posts.
Occasionally, I will close a thread for other reasons - ie - they get too "hot", bickering, insults, ect - but that has rarely happened.

And any person on the Admin team (including mods) are able to close any thread.

Sometimes there is a flurry of activity on a thread and if a person isn’t on here every day, it hits 130 without them having opportunity to comment. We can adjust to it.

I’m not being obtuse. I’m telling you the third time I posted the first time I saw the thread. I don’t have a Time Machine.

You finally conceded after continuing the issue several posts after I told you three times I posted the same day I first saw the thread.

It shouldn’t have BEEN an issue at all. Ever. It’s on the board. It isn’t closed. Therefore proper to post on.

Since there appear to be no more substantive comments, only personal vituperation, this thread is closed. Please, members, attempt to avoid the kind of personal attacks that are evident on this thread.
