You don’t want to debate plants and man but you say that stars are an issue because somehow God could not have done that in the same way. Illogical. That is why I reject the thinking if Hugh Ross. If God only took a minute or two to make an adult male from dust, then he could make anything in a minute or two if God is omnipotent.
On the fourth day God, an argument being, in an instant created all the stars and their galaxies and giving them a real history of their millions and billions of years. Why not?

Adam saw the same night sky that you see. Adam got his history from dust to full grown male most intelligent and strongest man ever in a minute or two one 24-hour day.

You weren’t there. The eyewitness is Adam and he left a book that Noah preserved and Moses used to write Genesis. The second eyewitness is Jesus who said FROM the beginning God made them male and female and so Jesus confirms that Adam was at the beginning of Biblical Creation.

This idea of "instant history" is a very overused excuse offered by YEC adherents. Why did God need to do this? It would be as if The Creator set out to deceive His intelligent humans. A vast ancient universe speaks of the timelessness of The Creator Himself. Why is there any need to explain this vast and ancient universe as anything else but what it appears?

Then time is a lie! If God cannot create real millions and billions years of real time in a day then there cannot be any ex nihilo creation either!
Being a staunch YEC adherent causes such faulty arguments which are like "Can God make a rock He cannot lift?" Reasoning one into a useless oblivion...

Again, the universe and the earth are very, very olde.

Something awful happened to the earth after Genesis 1:1

There was then a local remaking, reforming of "the land" as Sailhamer calls it. Genesis 1:2 and thereafter discusses this.

Humans were brought into being by special creation from dust.

Hominids existed in various sizes and polymorphs but they aren't our ancestors. They too were special creatures made by God.

There is micro-change in lifeforms but no macro-change. Whales don't leave the oceans. And dinosaurs don't change into birds.

Colossians 1:16

End of story. Just accept it. I do and I am totally at peace with it. From a former stubborn YEC to now a fully informed OEC, I am totally at rest with biblical origins issues.

May Ken Hamm see the light too one day.

Why are threads closed? How old they are? Just wondering . . . Thanks.

We usually close posts at about 130 posts - by then several pages - often the same thing is repeated several times. For someone new - takes a long time to go thu the entire discussion.

Normally, a new thread can be started and the old page can be linked on the OP

Hope that answers your question.
