Yes, republicans have been able to nibble away at the edges, but abortion will remain federally protected unit a conservative supreme court overturns it.

Republicans are not very successful at appointing constitutional justices.
Actually that is one thing I give Bush 2 credit for, good justices

Yes and the decrease is due to attitudes of mothers, and supply and demand due to a decrease in abortion doctors. That is not the point. The point is every baby that is killed is spilt blood on that hands of both parties. Several points you failed to make. The crime is at the federal level, not the state. States are doing what they can, but even at that, abortion is not going to be stopped by state legislation. Abortion is stopped by the hearts of people. I am sure when God says enough is enough, He is going to say, I see where the states have passed some laws, and the rate is down 9.3% from its high. Gee I think I will delay judgment ten years as a reward.

So you can try to squeeze out a gap between the two born in the pit of hell parties, but put the Founding Documents up to the two parties and how they govern this nation. Better yet, put Scripture up to the two present parties and you will see a huge gap. To try to assign either party as closer to the Lord is an abomination. Between that and gay marriage He should have squashed us decades ago.

Settle down.

You said the Republicans weren't doing anything about abortion and I linked to a story that said they were.

You said the abortion rate is not going down and I linked to a story that said it was at a 30 year low.

I said nothing favoring or dissing either party.

In Wisconsin, the Republicans also hold both the Assembly and the Senate. Walker has the backing to proceed with his policies, which he is actually doing.

I believe that what the DNC is scared of is that the same scenario will be played out in Washington.

Music to my ears!

We always hear about the issue of abortion between the two parties. Democrats promote it and Republicans have a paragraph in their National planks against it. So how does this work in real life. Democrats do exactly what they say they will. They promote it and pass laws to make it easier. What do Republicans do? Nothing except at election time. Republicans have had several years since 1989 where there was a Republican President, Republican Congress, and conservative Supreme Court and did nothing. At election time they will pound the podium about right to life, but the election passes and nothing happens, over and over again. In essence the Republicans are exchanging the blood of the innocent while pandering for votes.

What about gay rights and marriage. Both parties are equally guilty.

This in no way takes up for the Democrats, but it does show that both parties are totally dysfunctional and stand for nothing except staying in power.

Republicans have not had a 60 seat Senate with a Republican president and House since dirt, certainly not since Roe v Wade. They were able to get a ban on Partial Birth Abortions after Bush got elected. The procedure was so disgusting even democrats would not filibuster {Obama voted against the ban!} but they would never allow any other restriction on abortion. If the Republicans are able to get the presidency in 2016 and pick up 6 more Senate seats they might be able to stop abortions!

Some do not like my theory on that, but its this simple to me. (See election results of 80 and 84). If the Republicans nominate a conservative, there is no doubt in my mind that we can achieve the numbers in the Senate and increase the numbers in the House. On the other hand, if they nominate another RINO establishment liberal to moderate, they will lose again, and put their Senate majority in jeopardy. Of those probably running, the first category could include Paul, Carson, Walker, Cruz, Rubio and Perry. The second category includes Crispy Cream Christy, Romney, Bush the 3rd, etc. The candidates that are lining up show more promise that there has been in several elections.

Get ready to gag and puke. I'm seriously of the mind to vote Democrat for POTUS 2016 for the simple reason of maintaining a balance between legislative and executive branches. Gridlock has come to be a good thing.

I dread the thought of a neocon congress with a neocon president just as much as I do a socialist congress with a socialist president.

[add]

Both parties have become extreme.

....I don't think it matters who the GOP runs. Hillary will be the next President if she wants to run.

I wish I could know you were right on this, then I wouldn't have to stoop to voting Dem!

I'm almost there but I doubt I'll have the stomach to vote for the big D. 2016 is starting to feel like another no win scenario.

When it comes right down to it I question if I would actually do it. If it's a neocon I'll most likely do like bro Curtis and vote Libertarian or some other ticket more aligned with what I believe.

Your vote is too valuable to throw away. The truth is that the democrat party is controlled by leftists/Socialists. The Republican party is controlled to some extent by the big government/big business people but that is so much better than the Hillary Clinton, Turbin Durbin, Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi democrats.

Read my lips briarhopper, this redneck will never knowingly vote for another neocon. If the Republican nominee is even remotely similar to Bush and Cheney, I'll warn my whole clan about them and can just about guarantee 7-9 votes they won't get.

Who's throwing their vote away? We'll vote. We'll just choose to not vote for the same mess we've had in the past. I'm looking for someone who follows Jesus and acts like he does. And if that means I have to once again bypass all the usual suspects and another incredibly wicked person gets to run this incredibly wicked country, then so be it.

But I, personally, won't be putting my Jesus requirement on the back burner just so that someone can win an election.

That's definitely opinion. Wicked is wicked. And it's far time that Christians stopped this whole lesser evil thing and shocked the world by being really weird and fully aligning themselves with Jesus.

Tell me please, just what is it that is so bad about a neocon. I believe "neo" means new.

Some folks have called me awful names, right here on the ole' BB, for refusing to vote linguini-spined republicans is.

BTW, McConnell completely folded on the DHS funding thing. Off topic, I know, but how's this republican thing working out for you ?

And that's what I mean. I'm years passed tired of voting for folks with no conviction who will compromise on any and everything because they are positioning themselves for the next election.

And since they won't do term limits, we'll just have to take things into our own hands.

I refuse to vote for a Senator more than once. I don't care how good you are. After your 6 years, I'm not voting for you again.

Reps I give 4 years. After that, I want some new representation.

We need to unify.

And as an aside just because it popped into my head,my solution for Hollywood is that all Christians need to just not go to movies for an entire year. And I mean really not go.

It's time to get some folks attention.

Question: would you vote for someone for a second--or even third--term because the alternative is someone you KNOW couldn't do the job as well?
