Islam was never in the truth! And they do not trace back to Abraham as a religion. Islam the religion goes back to Mohammed around 600 AD, not back to Abraham.

Correct, Marcia. Arabs go back to Abraham, but the religion of Islam does not. Mohammed based his religion on one of the multiple gods Arabs were already worshpping at the time, the moon god.

At any rate, back to the topic, God has protected this Christian so far and perhaps will use this one man to bring many Muslims to the truth of Jesus Christ. It's not over yet. I give God the Glory for sparing this man's life so far, in answer to the prayers of many Christians throughout the world. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob be praised.

This convert is suppose to be released, but this does not solve the problem, the law still exists. it is beyond my comprehension that we as Americans brought that government to power, and did not insist that religous freedom be included in their Constitution. In other words, everyone can worship as they choose, without fear. Can anyone imagine an America or Israel that executed those who converted to Islam from Christianity (which is impossible, theologically, but thats another thread).

Well, according to this:

R. Nicholas Burns, the undersecretary of state for political affairs, said that the Afghan constitution "affords freedom of religion to all Afghans" and that the U.S. government hoped for a "satisfactory result" of the case.
Wash. Post

But if true, it isn't worth the paper it's printed on. What our policy makers fail to comprehend is the religion of islam has a history of being the most intolerant on the planet and nothing written on a piece of paper can change that. Iraq is no different. I read one time where there used to Baptists in Afghanistan. There used to be a lot of Hindus. There used to be religious freedom until islam moved in and took over the country. Whoever wasn't executed, fled. Now the country is nearly all Muslim. That's the islamic modus operandi.

We are ordering Christians in our military to sacrifice their lives and ordering Christian taxpayers to give up their money to create a government in Afghanistan in which their faith is subject to capital punishment.

If more people would realize this, there would be more common ground for discussion. Jesus is even in the Koran. What is sometimes called "Messianic Islam" is on the rise, and many of them come to the truth through the Koran, and want to know more about this "man", and guess where they turn? The Bible!

Just like all lies, Satan has taken the seed of truth and perverted it. But, the seed of truth is there. Historically, they worship the same God as we do, but that has been perverted into a worship of the moon god; but with that common basis and a teaching of Jesus, they can find the truth even in the mire of Islam.

Don't confuse these "Messianic Muslims" with those who are called "Messianic Muslims" by the Charismatic types.

Here's a link to a story of one. I have not read the entire article, but I have read of this man before: John

</font>[/QUOTE]It's happening in Europe today and it will happen in America. May God bless the martyrs who will bring the converts...

In the same token, Jews do not worship the True, Living God spiritually, although they also do worship Him in a purely historical sense.

Islam does trace back to Abraham, just as Christianity, and Judaism do. They all came out of the Jews' religion, though Islam has long since parted company with the truth.

JFox1:

Islam was never really in the truth. I've read the Qur'an, and it denies the deity of Christ and please note the curse it places on those who do:

The Jews say: "Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah," and the Christians say: "Al-Maseeh (Messiah, Christ) is the son of Allah." That is what they say with their mouths, imitating the sayings of the former unbelievers. May Allah destroy them! How perverted they are!" The Qur'an, Sura 9:30, translated by Muhammed Farooq-i-Azam Malik.

The Qur'an also denies the Trinity: O people of the Book! Do not transgress the limits of your religion. Speak nothing but the Truth about Allah. The Messiah, Isa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary) was no more than a Rasool (prophet) of Allah and His Word "Be" which He bestowed on Maryam and a Spirt from Him. So believe in Allah and his Rasools and do not say: "Trinity (three)." Stop saying that, it is better for you. Allah is only One Deity. He is far above the need of having a son! To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth. Allah is All-Sufficient as a Disposer of Affairs. The Qur'an, Surah 4:171.

Bro. James Reed:

The same can be said of the different Christian factions. Baptists, Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, etc, all worship the same God historically, in that we all came about through the early Christian churches, but most of them, I'll let you figure out which, have long since abandoned the truth of the scriptures, and with out the truth, we can not really worship God.
I'm a Lutheran. How has the Lutheran Church deviated from the truth?

We all differ a little from each other on various things in different churches. We can't all be right. Most likely, we are all wrong about one thing or another.

When we claim these differences mean that other Christians do not truly worship God, we have entered the service of Satan, who delights in setting one believer against another.

Afghan Arrives in Italy After Fleeing

ROME - The Afghan man who faced the death penalty after converting from Islam to Christianity flew to Rome on Wednesday after the Italian government granted him asylum. Abdul Rahman, 41, "is already in Italy. I think he arrived overnight," Premier Silvio Berlusconi said.

Praise the Lord!

Our faith is easy in the US but how many of you would be willing to risk it all for Jesus as this man did? Our brothers and sisters in Christ face difficult times in their faith that are inconceivable to us.
