People who cared about the lives of children.
People who truly care about the lives of children would spend great effort to end abortion.
On the same day this shooting occurred, app 1900 babies were aborted in the USA. Who really cares about the lives of Children? Not the liberals and leftists!!!

So if I say “No child will ever die of cancer again.” will that prove that I care about the lives of children more than all of the people who don’t make promises they are incapable of keeping?

Just as a point of interest, the largest mass murder of school children in US history used explosives and was done by a man who lost the election for Township Clerk and wanted to punish the community. (Bath School Disaster) Eliminating guns will not eliminate either mental illness or violence. Better control of access, weapon detection and follow up on reported threats will do more to reduce mass killings at schools.

If the attacker in Texas had no gun, he would have just put more effort into making sure his bombs worked.
If you make that statement and then do something about it then you can make a difference. For instance if funds are increased for research into childhood cancer then we are morel likely to find prevent ions or cures. Saying "Our thoughts and prayers are with you" over and over again without sincerely caring and doing something accomplishes nothing.

Since nuclear weapons are available in the world, your statement about the bomb really means we should do nothing about anything else because a person can nuke his adversaries. Correct?

No, few people have access to nuclear weapons and even fewer 17 year old boys can take their father's nuclear bomb.

My statement about the bomb means that eliminating guns is not a panacea for violence. We have serious problems with a youth culture (including twenty-somethings) of hopelessness and drugs and gangs and violence and crime, that removing all guns will not change.

The Texas boy had bombs as well as guns. He just focused on the gun more than the bomb. If he had no gun, he would have used the bombs to kill. So the real solution was to treat the cause, not the symptom.

Do you realize there are fewer abortions per women of child-bearing age now than there were before Roe vs. Wade was ruled on? Also, the number has gone up during Republican administrations and down during Democratic administrations.

So that's your argument for doing nothing to reduce gun violence in the U.S.? That is not a solution.

Are you aware that the rate of abortion in the U.S. is now lower than it was when Roe vs. Wade was ruled on. It goes down with increased access with contraception especially for poor or young women. Republicans want to restrict availability to conception. That will INCREASE abortions.

I'm sorry but it is you who wants to do nothing. You have proposed nothing that will lessen or eliminate gun violence.

Who are these republicans that wants to restrict this availability? Please name them and show the the bill they voted on to restrict this access.
The ones they want to restrict are the ones that kill after life is conceived, NOT things like the pill and trojens, but would not have the morning after pill allowed!

The Democrats protect the pro choice courts at all costs. Do you realize that abortion is firmly in the Democratic platform? Do you realize that the stats you reference are Crap? Vast numbers of abortions are not reported to CDC due to our biggest states refusing to provide the data.
This is an example of the Democrats speck and board. They scream about the speck of gun deaths but ignore the board in their eye of abortion rights protection.

I support strong background checks, greater sentences for crimes committed with guns, semi-automatic and bump stock bans and an extensive study of how to reduce gun violence in the U.S.

Financing Family Planning Services for Low-income Women: The Role of Public Programs

https://www.kff.org/womens-health-p...low-income-women-the-role-of-public-programs/

For more than 50 years, a network of public programs and providers have assisted millions of low-income women of childbearing age in the U.S. to obtain sexual and reproductive health services. Medicaid, the Title X Family Planning Program, and Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA) are the leading sources of federal funding for the over 10,000 safety-net clinics across the country that provide reproductive health services to low-income women, men, and teens. The Trump administration and the Republican leadership of the 115th Congress have proposed to block federal Medicaid funds from going to Planned Parenthood, a safety-net provider that delivers a wide range of reproductive health services and cancer screenings to more than 2.5 million women. In addition, the Trump administration’s FY 2018 budget proposal would reduce by 18% discretionary federal support for the Department of Health and Human Services, the agency that funds Title X and community health centers.

Semi automatic rifles, as in Machine guns are already banned, background checks in place, and main reasons for gun violence is not due to available guns, but due to mental illness, breakdown of the family, especially as in high out of wedlock single mothers and fathers in name only, and most of all, society rejecting God and His ways wholesale!!

Incorrect.

Man, this is tiring having to correct you on a daily, sometimes twice, three times a day.

The Trump administration wants to separate out the funding for abortion services from all other health and reproductive health services. Planned Parenthood would need to keep separate books for abortion services and health services. The money would still be there. It's up to Planned Parenthood to comply with the new government regulation on bookkeeping. If they don't want to create a separate accounting center for abortions, then they don't get the money for the abortions. The other health services would still receive funding.

Nope no one there calling for the restriction of those. Got something else.

It was in the news just a couple days ago.

Yes, as your Kaiser Family Foundation article (from a year ago) states, the Trump administration wants to restrict funding to Planned Parenthood. Restricting funding for Planned Parenthood because they perform abortions has long been a goal of Republicans. It's not a big secret. The vehicle Trump came up with last week is the regulation regarding separate accounting for the abortion services.

Trump stated in the campaign that Planned Parenthood did "wonderful things for women's health". This is his way of continuing funding for the things he sees as being good about PP, while making them jump through hoops to provide abortions. He ought to be applauded. Another promise kept by Trump, BTW.

Oh, and here is yet another example of a Republican trying to restrict abortions. This fact flies in the face of your oft-repeated and dead wrong assertion that Republicans haven't done anything to stop abortions.
