The parents won that round but you are attacking their Holy Grail the NHS - Brits love that system and will defend it to the end. They can have it AFAIC, if and when it totally collapses (and it will in the near future without major reform), it will be disastrous. Covers about 60M at just under 2K/yr per capita and it's the 5th largest employer in the world, over 1.5M employees. Criticizing the NHS is too close to biting the hand that feeds you but that too shall pass.
Close to a cult of worship, which I didn't believe until I saw the NHS glorified in the London Olympics with those hospital beds and stethoscopes - propaganda you'd expect from North Korea.
