No what I am saying is salvation is not just about what we are being saved from but also what we are being saved to. Paul was talking to Jews mainly and they already had the background. In terms of today's gentiles (that's you and me for all you civilian types) there is no Jewish or religious background as a foundation to bounce off of. We are saved from something and we are saved to something. Both are equally important and need to be heard in concert.
