And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Rev 12:9
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 1 Tim 2:13,14
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired [lusted after] to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Gen 3:6

Adam was first and was the head.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:14,15

Eve desired, lusted after the fruit of the tree, yet we are not told Adam lusted for the tree, therefore I ask;

What lust brought forth the sin of Adam?

You bolded the part that you seem to be asking about "and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Gen 3:6" Adam was with Eve so he would have heard Satan. He could have refused the fruit but instead lusted for the same things as Eve.

God instructed Adam not to eat before Eve was created, so Eve chose to believed Satan over the word of Adam, while Adam chose to believe Satan over the word of God.

Which is the greater sin, the people rejecting the prophet, or the prophet rejecting God?

No, Genesis 3:3, ". . . God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. . . ." Eve had no reason to lie.
How do YOU know God said that? Did God tell you directly, or was the information relayed to you through a person that God told?

Same question for Eve.

Benny? "Do you know what the Lord said to me?"

Yeah, Benny, either it's in the Book or we're not believing it, just coming from from you.

Not mentioned but implied, so not a lie.

"neither shall ye touch it", which though not expressed in the prohibition, is implied, namely, such a touching the fruit as to pluck it off the tree, take it in the hand, and put it to the mouth, in order to eat it:"

Not nessisarily doubting, or a lie at all.
"nor the latter by these words, "lest ye die", or "lest perhaps ye die"; as if it was a matter of doubt, when it was most strongly assured;

for the word used is not always to be understood of doubting, but of the event of a thing; see Psalm 2:12 and may be rendered, "that ye die not"; which would certainly be the case, should they pluck the fruit and eat of it.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

They would both be the same as it is still people rejecting the word of God.

Some see all sin as arising from one of three sources..

1. lust of the flesh

2. lust of the eyes

3. Pride of life

We are only told Eve offered the fruit and Adam ate it.

Beyond that is speculation as to motivation.

peace to you

So you believe Eve lied before she ate of the tree.
No. I believe that Eve told the truth when she claimed to be deceived. I believe that Eve told the serpent what she believed God’s command was because she was improperly instructed.

I believe Adam heard God speak and knew EXACTLY what God had said, so Adam was not deceived. Eve chose to doubt what Adam had told her ABOUT God, while Adam chose to believe that God had not told him the truth.

Thus both were cursed for their actions, but SIN ENTERED THE WORLD THROUGH ADAM (Romans 5).

. . . she claimed to be deceived.
Genesis 3:13, "woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."
Now what she had said, "God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die." Was before the Serpent's lie.

I believe Alan nailed it here:

To be with his wife.

Paul makes it clear, Eve was tricked by the devil, Adam was not, it's clear he made a choice and I think it was to be with his bride.

14 and Adam was not beguiled, but the woman being beguiled hath fallen into transgression: 1 Tim 2

I don’t know what you want or expect me to say. :Barefoot

It may seem odd to some to consider Adam as a type of Christ in the story of the fall, i.e., that he chose to die with Eve in order to have her, but scripture clearly points to Adam as a type of Christ:

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam`s transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come. Ro 5

45 So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1 Cor 15

Milton takes that tack in his Paradise Lost. See Book IX:886-1016.

I agree Adam was a figure of him to come, yet that one to come I believe was foreordained to do so, before Adam was created as his figure.

The woman was the, עֵזֶר H5828 βοηθὸν G998 for the man.

How so? How was she to be his helper? How did she help him?

Consider Gal 4:4 and Gen 3:15

Was indwelling of the Holy Spirit always going to be a necessity beginning with the man of Gen 2:7, through the one to come, in the figure of the man of Gen 2:7?

Just some thoughts that come to mind.
