How are believers kept unto salvation?

a) by the power of God

b) by the power of self

c) by the power of God plus self

Here is a passage of scripture to help you with your answer; 1 Peter chp 1......

(1) "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,"

(2) "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied."

(3) "Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, "

(4) "To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,"

(5) "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time"

We don't keep ourselves because we can't. Rather, we are kept by God's saving Grace, love, and mercy. I am fully persuaded that He is able to keep that which I comitted into His hand, against that day. I have committed my life unto Him, and He can, and will, keep me safe in Chist.

And those who are His are the ones who persevere to the end; those who reject their salvation and turn permanently away, are not His.

My son can reject me, but he's still my son. Nothing can change that.

I still don't understand why anyone would reject that which they know to be true.

I know gravity exists because I see its effects. To stop believing in gravity would have to mean it either disappears or I have gone completely insane.

Do you like to dance, Amy? I hope so, because you and I have been dancing with this for a while. :)

Can a child be "unborn"?
Can you as the child of your father, change your genetic make-up, IOW, ever deny that your father is really your father even if you change your name. Your DNA, your genes will always tell the truth. Once a child always a child.

You can't apply biological/physical things to spiritual things. The analogy doesn't work, and neither does the reality.

What did Jesus mean by stating that he would raise up ALL that were saved, and that NONE saved would be lost!

was he wrong, confused/misunderstood?

God only keeps those who want to be kept.

Simple, ain't it? :)

Is salvation a gift from God or is it something you earn? If it is a gift then how do you figure someone who received salvation would somehow decide they would rather go to hell? Or, in other words, they don't want God to keep them anymore. Does that really sound logical to you?

Can you explain how one rejects their salvation and why they would decide they would rather go to hell?

You sound like Nicodemus. Jesus is the one who applied the physical things as an example of the spiritual things.
