I wonder what those folks would do with the words that do not translate?I have heard that some KJV only would contend that unless the language was translated from the KJV it is not "authorized" as the Word of God.

 Major dittos! An any stronger no would get me into the area of minced oaths.
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, as it is in truth, the Word of God... (I Thessalonians 2:13). We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God's preservation of His pure words to every generation (II Timothy 3:16, Psalms 12:6-8).
The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use; the King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.
Oooh, Salty, you found a can of worms to open. My experience? In most IFB churches there appears to be a "don't ask don't tell policy." So I rarely ask a church's position, and they rarely ask mine. But the more radical the church is, the more likely they are to ask. This might be a tad off OP, but since John of J mentioned going to a # of churches - and many using different versions -
If a missionary is KJVO - then to be consistent - he would have to refuse support from a non-KJO church - wouldn't he?
Salty
PS John - This post is not directed at you ! but you did bring up an interesting point.

And who's going to argue with the chief of police? :smilewinkgrin:reminds me of the time when AN IBF church member invited me to attend their church grand reopenning, and only thing he told me was "be sure" to wear my suite and take ONLY the KJV!
The police chief read the dedication from Solomon to the temple in the OT, but read it out loud in his NIV version!
ONLY time that bible ever was read in sanctuary, but thought it was neat that God made it so that something other than the KJV was read!
Shows that He has a sense of humour, and thinks that other versions valid too!
I used to be a member of an independant fundamental baptist church. I really liked the preaching but got tired of the constant bashing of other churches for using other bible translations. They even taught the kids a song that goes "The B- I -B- L -E but not the NIV, yes thats the book for me...."
Are all fundamental churches King James Only?
If we could transport Peter Ruckman and the KJVO only people to 1511 - I wonder what their message would be?:BangHead:
did not know that!
thanks!
I did not want to take much time on that website because usually they are filled with SYI.i was really into HCSB version
then i read this

No they are not, however most are.

So I took a look at one I thought to be wrong--Mt. 19:9. The word translated fornication in the KJV and sexual immorality is a word that includes all kinds of sexual immorality or perversion. It includes far more than just fornication and adultery.
Major dittos. :thumbsup:This is simply untrue. Many use the KJV, but only a small minority are. I have been associated with a couple of hundred IFB churches and the vast majority do not fit the description.
