Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
I hope Courtney joins in. The study of false religions has always been one of my interest and I love to hear from those who have actually been part of them for this gives a pov that just cannot be understood as well from the outside looking in.
I would like to know what she heard in this church that caused her to accept Jesus Christ as the Eternal (key word) God.
Are Mormons Biblical Christians?
No they are not. John 10:5
Mormons are NOT "Christian" because they reject the ecumenical creeds as teaching the truth of Christianity.
Where did CHristianLady go? Did she quit the board already? I was hoping to help her understand Mormons here.
Can't this be said of any Christian denomination? Methodist? Baptist? Catholic? Which one is the gospel that was preached to the Galatians?
The Jesus they worship is not the Jesus of the Bible, but a Jesus that is a created being. Jesus was not created. He is God, the Creator of the world. The Mormons do not believe this.Have no fear about my salvation, Moriah. I don't go to the Mormon church anymore and haven't for many, many years. But I do still believe the things they believe which can be backed up by the Bible.

Not believing that Christ is deity, they also deny the trinity, another essential Christian doctrine.
The Trinity is one of those subjects that I've never been able to comprehend. How can God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit be the same being? If that's the case wouldn't that change Christianity from monotheism to polytheism?
For example, the Bible states that when a man and a woman are married, that they "become one flesh". Genesis 2:24 states, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." That doesn't mean that he ceases to be himself and she ceases to be herself, but that they are united together in a partnership. They are still two separate people though, each with their own thoughts and ideas.
The Bible also shows that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings. this is clear to me when I was Matthew 3:16-17. "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. It clearly shows God being in the Heavens, Jesus in the water, and the Holy Spirit descending upon Jesus. God didn't say, "This is myself, in whom I am well pleased" did he? So I ask you good people, how is it possible for the Trinity to be real? It can't. I believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings who all work together for the common good.
If I am wrong, please someone explain it to me in a way that will make sense. I've been trying to understand this for 30+ years now and still don't get it.
What things do you believe as they believe?
There are many things in the Bible hard to understand, such as the trinity. We accept them by faith even if we don't completely understand them. A finite mind can never comprehend an infinite God. There is, and always will be one God.The Trinity is one of those subjects that I've never been able to comprehend. How can God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit be the same being? If that's the case wouldn't that change Christianity from monotheism to polytheism?
That is true enough. It is a physical illustration, but God is spirit. It is harder to understand spiritual things.
This is a very good example of the trinity. Remember there is only one God. But here at the baptism of Jesus we have all three persons of the trinity manifest: the Father as he speaks from heaven, the Spirit in the form of a dove, and the Son come in the flesh. They are three, and yet one. Here is the one place in Scripture where they have manifested themselves in a more or less physical way. Each person has separate functions within the trinity. They are co-equal, co-eternal. For 33 years Christ confined himself to a human body. He was God in the flesh--fully God and fully man at the same time. This, the Mormons would never believe. So I ask you good people, how is it possible for the Trinity to be real? It can't. I believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings who all work together for the common good.
I hope I have made some sense. There are probably others that can explain it better than I.If I am wrong, please someone explain it to me in a way that will make sense. I've been trying to understand this for 30+ years now and still don't get it.
You said you believe as they believe. Therefore, are you saying you do not believe that Jesus is God in the flesh? Do you believe Adam came back alive and impregnated Mary?I believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings (see Matthew 3:16-17).
1 Corinthians 15:40-41 is not about the levels of heaven that the Mormons believe. Do you believe in the levels of heaven that the Mormons believe?I believe that there are three different levels of Heaven (see I Corinthians 15:40-41).

THER GODS before Him! But Jesus clearly said that He and His Father are one. Who is His Father? And in Romans 8:9 the Holy Spirit is referred to as both "the Spirit of God" and "the Spirit of Christ":I believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings (see Matthew 3:16-17).
In that case, why did He say in John 10:15:I believe that Jesus died on the cross to give the gift of salvation to everyone.
I have just looked at the verses you mention, but I cannot see where they say that there are "three different levels of Heaven". Those verses say:I believe that there are three different levels of Heaven (see I Corinthians 15:40-41).
I urge you (anyone reading this, not ChristianLady1978 in particular) not to rely on some supposed "second chance" after death to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. The bible knows nothing of such a "second chance" - if you look at the context of 1 Peter 3.18-19, you must see that it is addressed to people who already are Christians. It is vitally important to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in this lifeI believe in Purgatory/Spirit Prison where the unsaved will go after death and have the opportunity to hear the gospel one final time (I Peter 3:18-19).
But Jesus clearly said that He and His Father are one. Who is His Father? And in Romans 8:9 the Holy Spirit is referred to as both "the Spirit of God" and "the Spirit of Christ":
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
In that case, why did He say in John 10:15:
“I lay down My life for the sheep.”?Later on in that same chapter, in verses 26 and 27, Hew says to a group of Jews:
26 "But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
I have just looked at the verses you mention, but I cannot see where they say that there are "three different levels of Heaven". Those verses say:
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

I agree about the days of Noah, Michael. Thanks.Regardless of context, and although it may be addressed to Christians, it is talking about people who died long ago, in the days of Noah -- these are the spirits in prison.
I do agree with your last sentence.
He then said, "Well, the Lord has asked me to extend a calling for you to work in the church Nursery." If you were given a calling, you accepted no matter what.
